March Week One: School and Waco Daytrip

Here's some normal days at the Stacer household...
Autumn loves Aaron's reading "nook" and always tries to wedge herself into his spot.
Watching AJ work on a vehicle (and helping a little). After thirteen years, it is still one of my favorite things to do.
I think maybe Monkey got in trouble. They were having a chat.
She was proud that she got both babies in the stroller together.
Doing Rosetta Stone with Autumn around is almost pointless, but we still try.
Science: characteristics of bird eggs.

Before it got too hot we wanted to make it back up to the Cameron Park Zoo, in Waco. Autumn is old enough now that we thought she could enjoy the experience a bit more.
Our little Monkey-lover was very excited about the Gibbon family.
If you've ever been, perhaps you share my grumpiness towards the little stream of water that flows in front of this aquarium. It is just begging toddlers to get their feet wet.
Gators.
I felt a little sorry for this guy.

After the Zoo we checked out Homestead Heritage. Interesting place. Beautiful buildings and things to look at but we couldn't help but get heebie jeebies. Nonetheless, the food at the Cafe Homestead is some of the best food we've had in a while.

We walked around as much as the sleepy baby girl would allow us. She periodically reminded us that her nap time was rapidly approaching...
Pottery kiln that's outside the Potter's House.
The neatest place was the Forge. I could tell that this guy drew a crowd because he was the only one to have benches set up to watch him work. We were the only ones in there so he showed us a few things and answered some of the boy's questions.
Aaron walking toward the mill. I caught a rare happy-dance walk.
Neat little path that connected some of the shops and parking areas.
Inside the mill.
About three minutes after we started driving home, Autumn was out cold. All of this sight-seeing wears her out.
She needs a little time after waking up. She gets her grump face from her brother.

Beautiful day for a Car Show

On the last Saturday of February we met our friends, the Kimbro family, at the Georgetown Airport to take in a car and plane show. I'm a sucker for a car show and between that and the prefect weather it was... well, perfect.
I could totally see myself driving this vehicle.
Adam lets me know if he needs his picture taken with a particular car.
I think they just liked this one for the doors.
Big show, big crowd.
Adam jumps at the opportunity to get in a vehicle when it's offered. He's taking Cody and Cordell for a ride.
Our car show crew. Two Mamas, six kids.
Adam bomb.
Little Queenie.
They have a thing for deuce and a halves. Adam was demonstrating the size of the tires.

The rest of February

There was a lot of activity in February. The weather was wonderful and we took advantage of it as much as possible.
They like to hang out in her "corner" and read books. It's never too early for some Hardy Boys.
Standard issue Stacer kid activity.
Met a sweet friend at Hat Creek and sat out in the beautiful weather.

February is the month of Awana Club Grand Prix races. The boys are split this year and next, so the first week was the Sparks Race.
Adam wanted a Police car this year.
Aaron and Adam.
Lots of people and excitement.
Documentation. "7" for his age.

As part of their birthday gift, Daddy put an addition on their treehouse. Here's a little documentation of that process...
Working hard.
Sneak attack picture... marveling at his work perhaps?

Hanging out with big brother.

Autumn fell on the kitchen floor and chipped her front tooth pretty good. We took her into the dentist and he was able to sand it down a tiny bit, enough to where it doesn't seem to bother her anymore. She sat in Alan's lap and whimpered, but not crying. Such a trooper. We dodged a bullet on that one... could have been so much worse.
I'll probably get int trouble one day for this flattering picture. But it's good documentation.
A little swinging while Daddy mowed the lawn.
Three.
Happy scrunch nose face.
The bottom area of the new treehouse expansion is now the boys' "workshop." It is there that they set up their tools and build and tear apart things each day when they go out.
She likes to play with rocks.

Grand Prix #2... T&T (3rd-6th graders) this time...
Scheming.

At the end of February we took a drive up north a bit to pick up a vehicle. On the way back it was just Aaron, Autumn and I in the car. Autumn was overdue for a nap and when that happens this face is what we get....
...which is hopefully soon followed by this...
Sweet sleepy grump-grump.
Updated Mama-kids picture.
More corner playing. She has my bunny from when I was a little girl. :)
Here's some documentation of how Autumn spends her days... it's a hard knock life...
