FOR BRAD

Since my life has been threatened if I didn't update my blog- I thought I better get on it. SO Mr.Brad, this post is for you.

Since my last post-

I've moved home
Found a job
Thought I'd start new job
Found I wasn't starting new job
Currently waiting to start new job

Apparently transferring from one state to another is a big ta-hue, and takes weeks on end to complete.

I haven't heard from them in a while- SO I've started job searching once again, because I'm tired of waiting, I'm tired of emailing them and hearing they're just waiting for 1 more something or another to clear.

Luckily for me, my neighbor's daughter has been in need of a little help with her children. They're all involved in ballet, or swimming, and what nots- so with their busy schedules- help is much appreciated, gives me income, and it's fun!

It's all great until:

LADY: " Stephanie, I'm going to be out of town this weekend, would you mind taking the girls to their ballet class? You would have to get here about 7:50 AM."

ME: "Oh Yea, that would be no problem."

LADY: " I know it's early, you'll be okay with that?"

ME: " Of course, I don't mind getting up early"

Friday night rolls around, I'm with an extremely good looking guy. We're having fun, I make it home around one in the morning. I think to myself...

' Oh boy, I should get to bed, I gotta get up tomorrow.'
'I'll set THREE alarms for myself, One at 6:45- to warn myself it's almost time to get up, one at 7:00 because that's what time I SHOULD get up, and one at 7:15 in case I DIDN'T get up.'

I fell asleep peacefully dreaming of my wonderful night WHEN

My phone starts singing to me all to soon. It's 6:45- my 15 minute warning. Okay. Fine. I rest for what i presume will be another 15 minutes WHEN

MOM: " STEPH!! the phones for you!"

ME: i groggily get up and look at the time.... 8:20!! CRAP- I run and grab the phone quickly apologize and tell her I'm walking out the door RIGHT NOW.

I don on some levis and pull on a tshirt- pull my hair in a pony without even using a brush- and do a cruddy quick job of brushing my teeth.

I hate mornings like this.

Somehow I got most of the girls to their ballet class on time, just the youngest missed about 15 minutes of her class. I hate when I let others down. But what's done is done...

... I think staying out with Mr. charming, luscious eyes was worth the moment of irresponsibility though. ;)

30 Day challenge- DAY TWO

DAY TWO: post a picture of you and the person you've been closest to for the longest.

This one was hard for me to decide on.... of course I've been closest to my family for the longest time.... but since that's so obvious I've chosen a high school friend that I'm still very close to.

This is Kara Morris- We had a rough start. We kinda knew who each other were through High School- but never got to talking until our senior year. We were both pretty judgmental of each other, and neither of us were interested in being close friends with each other. We realized we had quite a few classes together, and began to talk a little more- then Kara happened to hit a hard patch in her life. Somehow she chose to confide in me, and we became inseparable. It has been such a blessing, through Kara I was able to meet and introduce my sister in law to my brother. Since then we've both gone through hard times- and we've been able to be each other's support. She's currently serving a mission in Argentina, which completely amazes me. She's a person who if she sees something that needs to get done, she jumps in and makes sure it gets done quickly and efficiently. So though I've only known Kara for about 5 years she knows everything about me, and can call me out on my imperfections. she is my best friend. I love her.

FIRE!

Yesterday I spent the morning making gourmet brownies... yes, GOURMET! What made them gourmet? I melted real Ghiradelli chocolate on the stove. It wasn't just full of Hershey's baking chocolate powder like all other brownie recipes I've made. I anxiously awaited as they baked in the oven, filling the room full of the luscious smell of chocolate. As the timer went off I lovingly opened the oven, and pulled the piping hot brownies off the rack. What did I do then? I dropped them. Luckily they stayed in the pan... but still all I had to show for all my effort were scrambled brownies.

Wouldn't have been such a bad thing... except, these were supposed to be special PRETTY brownies. Brownies to persuade and bribe everybody at church to enjoy my first ever Gospel Doctrine class. Looking at the mess of what were supposed to be beautiful brownies... I may or may not have sworn. Ok... I didn't swear... at least not aloud.

After fixing my brownie fiasco, and putting the finishing touches on my lesson I finally got to go have some fun. I drove an entire hour away (listening to Harry Potter the entire time) and met up with Danny at his house. I got to meet his cute family, and I earned some points with his 5 year old brother when I boasted of my past Zelda gaming experiences. We then left to go build a bonfire at one of his friends houses! It was fun meeting some of his friends, and they were all crazy hilarious. All in all it was a good day. I now had a batch of pretty brownies to take to church, and stunk of campfire. Doesn't get much better than that does it?

Sewing Drama

Tonight... I used a sewing machine for the first time in who knows how many years. And you know what I quickly discovered?? I forgot to get an unpicker.
Shucks.

Wanna know what's worse then having a mistake halt your sewing progress due to the lack of an unpicker? It's when you're beginning to cut out your material, and you look over and see a spider glaring at you.

Wanna know what's worse then a spider glaring at you? It's when you go to get something to kill the spider, but upon returning you find that the spider, which happens to blend into the carpet perfectly, is nowhere to be found.... and you still gotta sit on the floor and cut out that stinkin material.

It's a beautiful Life~

Isn't it funny how whenever you have certain expectations in life, the exact opposite seems to happen. A year ago today I was saying my final goodbyes to my family to go have a New Hampshire adventure. I was excited and imagined all the wonderful things that lay ahead of me. I thought I was going to lead such an awesome life across the country. I had no worries about being homesick, and felt confident that I would fit right in with the New England way of life. I was wrong.
I didn't make any friends, I didn't fit in with my new ward, I missed my family like crazy. I ached for my Utah life. With that said, I would have done it again. It was hard, but I definitely grew from the experiance. 9 long months later I finally made some great friends, and felt like I had FINALLY made a place for myself in New Hampshire. It took 9 months but I was settled in and happy. Just a short month after having found happiness I found out we were moving again.
When Kim first mentioned the idea of moving to Massachussetts, I was completely against it. I think I even told her that if she decided to move she may as well just ship me back to Utah. I didn't want to start all over again. After much consideration and talking it over with Kim, I decided to give it a try. With this move I had totally different expectations. I was expecting another bout of loneliness for months on end, but once again life has surprised me. I've now lived here for 2 months, and have found myself constantly busy. I've met some wonderful friends that I'm excited to get to know better, an institute class to give me an extra weekly uplift, and 2... yes 2 ... extremely supportive wards. I'm enjoying a new job that takes up a lot of time that I would otherwise be alone. And everybody I work with is just as warm and welcoming. Even the patients. Yesterday I walked into the Rehab gym where a sweet elderly lady named Beverly sat. As soon as I walked in, she became very excited as she handed me a gift. She had made everybody in the Rehab Dept a book mark. It was made from threads, and they were put together in such a way that they made a small doley. They were beautiful. She had different colors around her and she had it all planned out on who got which color. I felt touched that she had even remembered me. It was only my 3rd day on the job, and I had never talked to her. But she had a multi colored one set aside just for me. It made my day.

Tomorrow marks my 1 year anniversary of living on the East coast. I've had trials. I am happy and content. I've grown. I continue to grow in many ways. I love the twists and turns of life. I am grateful.

HA!

OH BOY! SO... I start my new job tomorrow! It's so weird, I'm gonna have a REAL job... Haven't had one of those in nearly 3 years! All those new first day nerves are settling in, and I'm finding myself hoping they find me more then adequate, especially since now it's not just my name on the line, but Kim's. In preparation for my new job I had my physical exam yesterday AND I'm extremely healthy. The nurse seemed quite pleased, and after checking my blood pressure she commented on what a stress free life I must lead. I also finally found myself well enough to get to spin class today. It was great after being struck down with a cold the previous week, and I had my best ride yet! I hope I am able to keep up with gym time once I start working.... Now for the MOST exiting news, I am going to attempt to go to Institute tonight!! I am so super excited to be able to have Institute in my life again, it was something I truely missed while living in NH! Let us hope that the traffic isn't too bad, so that I can make it on time!

Also, look forward to my post about Honduras! It'll be coming up soooon! (hopefully) Along with Cape Cod and Palmayra!

Until Next Time!
