Chickens

Every morning I get to come in to this little face, the first thing I ask him is how he slept and what he dreamt about.... Every day for the last week I am caught before I ask, and he says, "MOM... Mom.... I dreamed 'bout cheeeekins!" some days its about cows too..... Perhaps this kid needs to be raised on a farm? Maybe we will look for a home with some land so we can help him live his dreams :)

Shout out

I'd like to give a shout out to my friend here...
Did you know that if you lock the bathroom door and take a 3.2 minute shower
and leave this within reach of a 38 inch tall toddler, you will get a stain free:
coffee table
kitchen floor
ottoman
carpet
end table
mirror
lds childrens songbook
pair of shoes ( filled, not just sprayed but FILLED)
piano
and baby?
I guess I shouldnt take such long showers, right? Or maybe I should tell the husband who so lovingly did the laundry the night before while the mom was passed out by 830, to make sure that any and ALL spray bottles are impossible to reach/find for anyone that cannot read yet...
Thank you SHOUT for providing me with an entirely stain free house :)
Now I just need to go get a new bottle so that I can actually use it on some clothes.

PS this is how your 2 year old tries to get in to the bathroom when the door is locked.... impressive right?

Halloween

What the ?!? I just realized I never blogged about Halloween or my bday. Sorry, you'll have to excuse my friend.... She's a little slow. For the family party we went as lumberjacks and link of course was our little Lincoln log ;). The actual Halloween day we went as other things. Can you tell what we were? Ps let me tell you why I love DI. G's costume- $5. 5 whole dollars!!! Amazing grace.

Snow snow snow

Last week we had a killer snow storm. I love when it snows like this. I honestly can't remember the last time it did this. But the night before the storm I knew I would hate myself if I didn't get all the leaves up before it hit. So I enlisted in a little child labor. (Didn't work so well. That picture is the full amount of time he would hold that rake)

Boring

So I've decided my posts are rather boring lately. No spice-just cut to the point and there ya have it. I just have not had the time or desire to tell you all how funny i am, or let you in on all the funny/retarded things that happen. Maybe one day I will sit down ad let my creative/funny juices flow again but for now- you get the boring part of me. Sorry folks. But here are some pictures to make up for it.
This is what I am up to everyday- that keeps me from sitting at a computer allowing my words to flow.....

Australians

This last week one of Steve's mission companions and his sweet little family came and stayed with us for the week. It was so wonderful. They were on'holiday' for a month and decided to stay with us for a week of it. It was so fun to get to know them and to hang out. One nightł we made some Japanese food and it was great to hear funny stories from the mission. We sure miss the Tramacchis and hope they will stay with us again next time they come to America on holiday. Gabe loved having a little buddy to hang out with all week and has been looking for him in their room and calling out-"jamin,jamin!!" So cute.

My boys!

Oh how I love these nuggets. I'm one lucky mama.

Boot Camp and Half Marathon Ish

Boot camp
So I completed bootcamp a few weeks ago. I kind of sorta thought it would never end. Six weeks isnt a long time, but six weeks waking up at 5:10 in the bless-ed AM is like an eternity. Seriously, some days I thought if I had to get out of bed before 7 one more time, I was gunna- well I wasnt sure what i was "gunna" do, but I am sure it wasnt going to be good. Seriousy tho- once i was up and out the door, life was good.... most the time. I LOVED getting my butt handed to me on a silver platter every morning. Other times I kinda felt like my insides wanted to be on my outsides. But for now we will focus on the goods. Day one of bootcamp- my post pregnancy jello relief society arms could barely- and i mean BARELY give me one push up on my knees. Weak sauce I am telling you. As the weeks went by, I started to feel less sore and a little more strong. I could do a full burpee! (for those of you who dont know what a burpee- dont look it up. they are retarded. not a fan). By the end of camp, I completed 55 real push ups, and did 4.5 miles of hill sprints. My instructor was awesome, totally crazy fit and pushed me to do things I would never allow myself to do BY myself. Tuesdays and Thursdays were our cardio days so in training for my post prego half marathon i counted that as my training. (not a good idea)And Saturdays I would do my long runs.
Half Marathon.
The week before my half, we took a road trip down to St George to watch Spencer run his marathon. 26.2. good on ya for doin that Spence- Totally amazing accomploshment! After watching several finishers, seeing their miserable looking faces and draggin their beat up sorry behinds across the finish line I made the decision... that I really have no desire whatsoever to complete a marathon. I love running halfs- but judging by the looks on peoples faces crossing the 26.2 mile marker- I would want to kill myself, or wish i had dropped dead on the side of the road. ick.
SO ok on to my half marathon, october 13 i woke up early and got to the starting line about 15 minutes before the race started. the weather was pretty chilly- just the way i like it :) then the gun shot sounded and i was off. This race was a beast of a race. the first mile was fine, but mile 2 hit and it was like running up mt olympus, for the next 4 miles straight. not even kidding you. boo. I however am very pleased to say i did not stop "running" i was "running" slower than some people were walking, but i trotted along just fine. i added a full minute per mile to my average speed from my previous races, but hey- i finished and i am happy with that. my final time was 2:14:10. Not super pumped on my time, but oh so totally stoked for the sweet shirt and finisher medal I got.
My next race I fully intend on being better trained, having more months after having a baby behind me, and knocking off some decent time. I hope to get below 2 hours again. who knows, we will see what happens.

Lincoln's Blessing

So, Gabe deleted the blogger app on my phone and we now have a fantastic mac computer that I have absolutely no idea how to work, all of my darn photos from my phone have been synced to Mr. Mac- but I have no idea how to access the ones I want. So for now-you just get words. boring. i know. sorry- one day i will figure this thing out and pictures will be added. Hopefully before the end of the year- which is when I get this thing printed into a hard bound book for my library of the years our little family has together.
Ok, so this go around with child number two, we decided to be unconventional and bless Lincoln at home. It was awesome. And I am pretty sure we will do it that way from here on out. We invited close family and a few best friends to share the experience with and it was great. Lincoln is a pretty darn close to perfect. I am so in love with his smiley face and sweet disposition. During the blessing, he was quiet and content, which is really how he is 99.9% of time. The .01% is when he is hungry, I dont blame the kid- He goes from happy and cooing to feed me right this instant. But once hes got his bottle in his yapper he quiets right down. Anyway, Stevo did a wonderful job and one thing that really stuck out to me in the blessing that I feel like sharing, was that Link would have the desire and ability to be a protector and a sincere respecter of women. I think that is awesome. I wont go into anymore detail or even get on my soap box about that stuff. But Links blessing day was wonderful.
I only got one picture on his blessing day, better than zero.

Michelle's wedding

Michelle's wedding
So, my byuhawaii roommate and very dear friend got married two weeks ago in Oakland. We were planning on going since she announced it. Well after Link's hospital extravaganza we decided that we just couldn't hack it. So the week before the wedding I got an email from my dear friend Sam Nelson (hawaii groupie) who also happens to live in san francisco. He knew I wasn't able to come out and told me that he had made arrangements for me to be at the wedding. I flew out Friday morning and he picked me up from the airport and we drove to the temple. We didn't tell Michelle that plans had changed and surprised her in the sealing room. It was awesome. Sams wife wasnt able to get off work so everyone thought Sam and I were married. After all we have the same last name ha ha. But anyway, after the sealing there was about 5 or so hours to kill before the reception and Sam had to get back to work. So I dropped him off at the train station and Link and I had to figure out what to do to kill time. We went to Safeway and looked at all the possibilities of what to have for lunch, then went and found a park to chill at- for the next 4 hours and 45 minutes. We had a great time sleeping, eating and sleeping some more. Then we went and I picked up Sam and is awesome wife Reagan (coolest couple i know)and had a great time at the beautiful reception. We drove back into the city to their 400 square foot apartment where link and i fell fast asleep on their couch. And the next morning Link and I flew home. It was an awesome fun little trip and I am so grateful I was able to be there for such an amazing event. So happy for sweet Michelle and her sweet hub. Oh and at the reception they had a photo booth. I sure love those things.

East canyon

Last week we went on a week long camping trip with Steve's family to east canyon. Guess who took like 3 pictures. Sorry. Anyway we had a great time. The boys and Joanne had to work during the days, so Cristi, Rich and I stayed up there while the Others worked. Our campsite was right next to the playground, as yu can imagine, G money was in pure heaven. He played for hours there. They also have a pool that we went to and went for walks and just had a great time. In the evenings when the boys and J got back up, we took the boat and wave runner over to the lake and party'd it up. Steve wake boarded and worked on his jumps and riding switch. It was a lot of fun to watch him go. I went wake boarding for the first time since Link was born and had a great time. I fell once (Cristi got a sweet shot of my. Face right before I hit) but dont worry I didn't split open my abdomen where my c section was. :) Cristi tore it up on the slalom and is very good at it. I'm too chicken to try that stuff. then Friday everyone took work off and we went out for the day on the lake and had fun tubing and playin on the wave runner. Gabe had a rough spill when we were in the shore and got an entire face full of mud. I wish I would have gotten a picture, but seriously it was nuts. Poor kid did not like daddy splashing him in the face getting all the mud out of his eyes and nose and mouth. Well the only pics I have are kind a boring it is just us taking a nap one day, Gabes face after lapping up the puddle water down at the Park before I got to him-a few daddy and g swinging pics, and other self explanatory pics.

Boot camp

Speaking of exercising- My friend sold me her groupon for this boot camp thing- it is 6 weeks of getting your buns in gear 5 days a week. Guess how much I got it for? 35 bones And Totally worth it. But by bones- I really mean muscles. I am literally giving my muscles to the coach lady and she ever so gently puts them in a meat grinder and hands them back to me. I report back to her every morning at 5:30 in the blessed a.m. For her to gladly do it all over again. Sometimes I think I may be crazy. Don't get me wrong. I am actually loving the butt whooping. I can totally deal with the walking around like an old lady, but barely being able to breathe because those things of mine once called abs- have been hiding from me for the past I don't know- 10 Months-are just now letting me know they haven't abandoned me forever-, I feel a teensy bit of shame and embarrassment. Hopefully after the next 6 weeks I will be able to do a full on sit up :) and maybe even complete my half marathon that I signed up for. I'm a little nervous that the crazy morning exercises are going to keep me from being able to run, because lets be honest I can barely even walk right now. Dont worry. I'll let ya know.

Boo

Just wrote an entire post that took forever, and it got deleted somehow with this Darn app… Guess how happy I am about it.

California

I just realized I didn't do this in chronological order, but for the sake of time, Im leaving it. So in April my cousin Andell got married in California. My brother Spencer and my mom and I decided to road trip it out there. We had a ball. Gabe wow, is all I can say. I know I really should stop bragging on how awesome he is, but seriously, he is. It took us 11 hours to get there and 11 hours back, 22 hours of driving for a crazy busy little 2 year old  kid is a lot, heck its a lot for a 25 year 29 week pregnant girl. But this little munchkin didn't so much as make a peep the whole drive. HE was amazing! I think I might keep him around, he is a winner. Well, we got there and played in the pool, went to the wedding and the reception and just had a great time. It was a great little road trip. On the way home Spencer my mom and I started playing an estimating game to help pass the time, it was hilarious. I must say- I am a pretty good estimator of distance, Spencer- not so much- and my mom- lets just say she likes to change he answers. We would guess how far a mountain or a landmark was from where we were and we would take guesses of miles and Spencer the would clock it to see how close we would get. I was almost dead on a few times, and the closest most the other times. Spencer- was hilarious, he was WAY off and yeah- as I am writing this, it sounds kinda stupid, but seriously, we had a blast. You get the idea. The other thing that totally made the road trip awesome- spencer turned on Wilson Phillips on pandora- talk about our childhood, We sang at the top of our lungs to all sorts a 80's and early 90's fm100 style music. So great. All in all- Road trip was succesful.

Crazy fun weekend

This weekend was fun overload. We had a blast. Friday we went to the heber rodeo, which I think should become a yearly tradition. We packed up the boys and headed out. And man did we have a blast. Gabe had so much fun watching all the events and especially loved watching the skydivers dive and land in the middle of the arena. Link had fun sleeping in his carseat. The next morning we packed everything up and went Boating at east canyon with some members of my family and had a ball. Gabe loved tubing and playing on the beach at lunch time and going on the wave runner with daddy. After getting home at about 830 we headed over to Trent and Cristi's to watch a movie and had a sleepover. Needless to say, our 3 hour Sunday naps were not quite long enough to catch up from all the fun we had. Sorry the pics are all in crazy order. One of these days I will figure out the iPhone blogging. Or maybe we will get a computer that I can blog from :) ( I'm Saving for a Mac)
