The Q is 6!
Quinton wanted a LEGO party for his 6th birthday.
We had a lot of fun going through different ideas on Pinterest and picking out what we could do. I tried to keep it small so Quinton wouldn't be overwhelmed (and me) so I told him he could invite 6 kindergartners. It was the perfect size crowd I think.
The boys helped a lot with the decorating. They made utensil and napkin holders out of legos.
Caleb built this "Q" and "6" for Quinton. The white boxes were thank you gifts for coming to the party. Filled with a mini lego set, lego shaped candy and lego man crayons. I seriously love Amazon!
Just look at this face.
LEGO ice cream cake of course. I was excited the Duplo people could hold the candles.
I had a few games ready for the boys but I kind of already knew they would just want to build legos together. Easiest party entertainment ever!
I tried to do a relay race where the boys had to pick up legos using suction with a straw and carry it over to a cup but I guess it was a little more than 6 year old lungs could take so I just put the cups next to the plate and that kept them busy for awhile.

This Week
Eva: Woke up with a horribly sprained neck. (Seriously, how does one DO that while they are sleeping?) Chiropractor remedied it but suggested I start doing a little Yoga again. Getting old.
Caleb: While putting boys to bed. "If you guys get up in time you can do Yoga with me! It feels so good to stretch in the morning." Caleb, "It feels so good to SLEEP." ( I had to smile. Totally something I would have said.)
Ruby: Very obsessed with her belly button. Usually has at least one finger poking it the whole day long. Boys were hanging upside down on the couch and their shirts came down enough that Ruby saw their belly buttons. She got so excited and ran over there and started poking their bellies. I think she had just then realized that the boys have them too.
Quinton: I find him standing with the fridge door open. "Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold...."
"Quinton, what are you doing?"
"Oh, just making sure everything is cold."

This week (sort of)
Caleb: (actually happened back in April but I forgot about it) While putting together his birthday invitations. I showed him the moist towel trick to seal all the envelopes instead of licking them all. I shared how that was how we sealed the 400+ invitations for mine and Daddy's wedding.
"Oh, I remember that."
"Uh, you weren't born yet"
"Oh yah"
Quinton: Say something he doesn't agree with....."ERRRRRRRRRRNT" (think game-show buzzer)
Ruby: Discovered dog food and decided it's her favorite food.
Clayton: While putting boys to bed, Quinton told Clayton he did NOT want a kiss. Clayton kissed him anyways and when Quinton protested, "I said, I didn't want a kiss." Clayton replied. "I didn't kiss you, my lips just fell on your face."

Legoland
We finally took our first real, planned-out vacation since Clayton graduated dental school.
We knew our boys would love Legoland so off we drove to California
Caleb loved all the Star Wars lego statues. Especially the scenes in mini-land
Ruby had fun sight-seeing from the back.
We were drenched all the way through! Boys said they did NOT want to go on that ride again.
Ruby enjoying the one and only ride she could go on.
Besides Coaster-saurus and The Dragon roller coaster, the splash pad was Quinton's absolute favorite.
Ruby proved she is not a CA girl and does NOT like the beach!
Quinton would dig in the sand, ask Dad to help him wash off in the ocean, then go right back and stick em in the sand.
Dad decided it was time to get wet.
Visited the Leo Carrillo Historic Park for a nice stroll. There were a lot of peacocks roaming the grounds
They have an Albino peacock named Jack but we couldn't find him.
Someday I'll have a cabana in my backyard.

This week
Eva: Dumped all sorts of good nutrients into our garden's soil. Then purchased my early birthday present, a rototiller. Anxiously waiting for "him" to arrive tomorrow. Any name suggestions?
Quinton: Turned 4 and got the roller coaster cake he wanted. He approved with a wink.
Caleb: "Oh yeah, I forgot to give this to you." It's another tooth he lost 3 days ago. Didn't notice his gap was a little wider.
Ruby: Had as much fun opening Quinton's presents as he did. Found her standing on top of the rocking chair. We have another climber.
Clayton: Made us some delicious Falafel and yogurt sauce last night for dinner. Surprisingly, didn't destroy kitchen in the process. I was doubly pleased.
