Spring 2014

As it seems every parent says about their children, “They grow up so fast!”

Look how cute these two are!

We’ve enjoyed living in Farmington, UT for now more than one year and we love this area. We have enjoyed exploring the various paths and trails in our area and love discovering new places. We are feeling more and more like this is home.

Megan has been enjoying the full-time work raising our children. She is constantly fighting entropy as she converts chaos into order all day long. Despite the daily battles in the war for household order, she has made the time to organize thousands of family photos, interview her Grandma and produce an audio CD of her life, journal often, and exercise daily.

Mike is learning the ins and outs of data center migrations as a technology consultant. His current project is based out of Chicago, where he travels monthly for a few days at a time. He mostly does email, conference calls, and spreadsheets but is learning a lot. Yard work continues to be on his docket at home, finishing a flagstone walkway and patio he got burned out on last year. We've got a good size garden planned and nine new trees planted since moving in a year ago and Mike loves seeing it all grow.

Christian, who just turned three, is a bright child. He really is. He doesn’t do much ‘reading, ‘riting, or ‘rithemitc yet; however, he has several books (mostly related to Disney’s Cars movie) memorized and can use words such as “incredible,” “beautiful,” and “dad gum” perfectly in a sentence. He literally plays with his cars and trucks all day long. Most weeks he doesn’t watch a lick of television (thanks to his amazing mother), so he needs something to fill his time. A new love is springing up though in the form of coloring books, of which he increasingly produces impressive works of art. He has also enjoyed his other love- the sandbox his daddy so lovingly made for him- and can't wait for the weather to be warm enough for him to play outside all day every day. Megan is looking forward to doing joy school with Christian in the Fall. Christian is a very social guy and loves playing with other kids and he loves learning so it should be an enjoyable experience for him.

Cars themed birthday (of course)

Christian's Favorite

Maylee, who just turned one, is a complicated character. She is both quite mischievous yet very cautious. Like most little tikes her age, she loves throwing items hand over fist with a determined eye to maximize the damage possible in one minute of mom or dad’s diverted attention. However, she also is quite timid and is hesitant to walk very much (and definitely resists being thrown in the air by dad). So if it were possible to roll the qualities of determination and hesitation into one little body, then it would be the case for this little girl.

Birthday cake smash! (Yes, Megan made the cake. Isn't it fancy!? Oh, and it was as healthy as a cake can be.)

Also, some adventures we have had together:

Josh's Wedding in AZ (Megan's brother)
A three-day conference we went to together in Midway

Overall, we have had an enjoyable winter season and are looking forward to spring.

We are going to start creating a post like this every three months or so. The blog is public right now but we are going to take it private before our next post.

If you'd like to stay in touch with us through this method, please send us your google account email! You can send us an email at mnmeads@gmail.com (or our personal emails) and we'd be very happy to include you.

Summer Fun!

It has been such a fun and eventful summer! Christian gets bigger, cuter, and more talented every day! It is amazing! His favorite past times are no longer just eating, pooping and sleeping, although he still manages to fit those things in. He is now in to army crawling all over the place, touching and putting in his mouth everything he can get his hands on, babbling all sorts of things including ma ma and da da, and eating solids! Being parents is the greatest thing ever and it is so fun experiencing the world through a baby's eyes. We feel so blessed to have Christian in our family.

Lake Powell!

Christian did so well at Lake Powell and took awesome naps on the boat! He had so much fun playing in the water!

Rainbow Bridge

Look at the concentration on their faces as they squirt lizards off the wall! Katelyn looks especially hard core with her little water shooter :)

So BIG!!!

Christian isn't really a binky sucker or a finger sucker or a thumb sucker (unfortunately)... but he does all of the above occasionally and it is really cute :)

Christian kept trying to tell me that his bouncer is just so 6 months ago... but he really convinced me this time! It was well used- now we need an activity center or something

Christian and great-grandpa Silotti

He loves his jumper and is a crazy man in it sometimes!

Christian's first attempt at playing in the water- not too succesful.
Emma is Christian's best baby sitter. She pushes him around in her little dolly stroller and dresses him up. He loves it!

Bear Lake

Christian's first rodeo!

Christian met his great-grandpa Sparks who live in Dingle for the first time.
He loved chewing on his stop watch!

Christian tuckered right out after the Layton parade

All of the second cousins

Birthday!

I got a tent for my birthday and we tested it out that night in our living room!

Christian loves sucking on his bottom lip- it is so cute!

My best birthday present ever....

We gave Christian watermelon at Tuccano's to keep him happy and discovered he loves it!
