Little Miss Social

Wow, the past two months have been a whilrwind for me. I've found that everybody loves me and lots of people have been coming to visit. In fact, I've met so many new people that my daddy ran out of space and can't post all of the pictures of my fun friends.
Krystal, Tiffany and Tammy came to visit me when I was just a little munchkin. Mommy misses having Krystal as her student assitant at school. In fact she really misses all of her old students. (Except for Eddie)
This picture has nothing to do with my visitors, but dad thought it was so cute that he wouldn't let me take it out.
For Labor Day, I took my first plane ride and guess who I found in Park City? My sweet cousin Andrew. He's really big and smart like me. We apparently were the only ones in this picture that understood that you are supposed to look at the camera.
Daddy visits me everyday and gives me a kiss on my forehead. Sometimes I smile, sometimes I cry and other times I just give him a dumb look to keep it interesting.
Angie and Bill came to visit all the way from Indiana. Despite the appearance in this picture, Bill really does think I am neat. Honest.
Over Labor Day, I thought it was really neat to go to Tanner's baptism and meet more cousins.
I think Katie and Jim are awesome. I think they are so awesome that Dad and I are now cohorts in a grand scheme to convince them to move out this way when Jim finishes his residency in anesthesiology training.
Labor Day was big for me. I was able to meet my Great Grandma, my Aunt Kristen and cousin Sarah. Sarah is only 3 1/2 but she still babysat me, giving everyone else a break. She even helped give me a bath.
I must say, I look particularly stunning in this dress. Lots of family came out two weeks ago for my blessing at church. Dad was nervous but did a good job.
I'm a big fan of showing off my strength. Most babies wait a while to bother holding their head up straight, let alone stand up. I've been at this game since two days old. So, I'm pretty strong. What's that you ask? Am I coordinated though? I'll pretend you didn't ask that.
Ready for a day out on the town.
My good friend Joanna has been really sweet to me. She even lent my mom a ball to sit on and bounce me for hours and hours. I sleep like a queen when she does that and in the process, Mom has rebuilt her rock hard abs.
I sure love my Grandpa. He is a good cuddler and passed on some awesome genes via Mommy. No wonder I'm so beautiful.

The Arrival of Genevieve Christine

Welcome back to my blog. I thought now that I have entered the second week of life, it was time to give you an update on how I'm doing.
In this picture you can see how beautiful my mommy was the day before labor began. I think she looks ready!

After 38 hours of labor starting on July 12th and ending on July 14th, I couldn't wait any longer, so the nice doctors at the hospital decided it was time for a c-section and here I am fresh from my mommy's womb.

Childbirth is tough work and I developed quite an appetite during my journey. I don't even think mommy was fully awake yet from her anesthesia, but I was hungry.

On Monday, the 17th, Mom and I were given a clean bill of health and they let me come home. Luckily we were able to bring all of the flowers that people sent me in the hospital.

Mom and Dad look really happy to have me home. It's a good place to be.

Daddy stayed up late assembling some of my toys a few nights before I was born. Here I get to try out my favorite swing.

Grandma and Grandpa on my daddy's side came to visit me this past week. They seem like nice people, but I was a little surprised to see that I already have more hair than Grandpa.

Grandma on my mommy's side has been a good friend so far. She came all the way from California to help out my mommy and daddy. She even showed Mommy how to give me my first bath. I don't look too happy, but I am actually singing in this picture.

Mommy is doing better each day and looks fantastic. She holds me lots and makes sure that I am well fed. I love my mommy.

I don't know why, but Daddy sure seems to sleep a lot. That's okay though, because he is always willing to rock me back to sleep with him.

Maria Guadalupe's on the way!

In this episode from the life of Maria Guadalupe, we show how beautifully Mommy and Baby are blossoming. (Actually published on May 15th)

Mommy on March 23rd on the beach at Carmel/Monterey, California.

Mommy is looking particularly stunning on April 1st.

In these photos, Daddy gets some camera time with Mommy at the Salt Lake Temple on April 22nd. Baby is growing and making Mommy more and more beautiful everyday.

Little 'Lupe gets to go to the theater with Mommy and Daddy on May 4th. Despite her Spanish name, we are trying to expose her to some French culture so we thought she better see Les Miserables. Maybe in a few years she will be able to teach you some French.

At Maria's first baby shower on May 13th, Mommy reads a great book that teaches that "Burgers are yummy! Boogers are yucky!" Daddy is very confused as to how anybody could learn to pick their nose in our house.

On May 15th, Mommy shows just how healthy both Mommy and Baby are developing. Only two months to go!!!

Daddy tries to read all about Baby almost every night. Sometimes it makes him a little sleepy.

We did it, we did it, we did it, yea!!!

Here it is! Our new house!
Dave celebrating in his favorite room upstairs. It's all about relaxation.

Dave is just working on his quads as he practices eating without a table. When we get a dining room table, feel free to come join him for a bite!

We are more than excited to enjoy some cupboard and counter space in our kitchen. Making dinner should be a lot easier without bumping into each other.

Still our kitchen.

Our eating nook.

Maria Guadalupe Eggleston de los Llanos

Here's our baby, showing you that she is a girl. Oh how I remember the first time I sat bare-bottom on a copy machine. She has great legs. Just like mommy.
The sonographer thinks she was yawning here. I think she was singing a goofy song that I taught her earlier in the day. Amazingly, she likes to hear her dad sing funny songs.
Aint she a looker.

Construction Progress on the New Spread

Many of you have asked about the house we are going to be buying, so we thought we would take a page out of Michael's book by creating a blog to share some photos.

Welcome to our home, this is the front entry.

Here is the "Great Room"

...and the music/sitting room

...and the dining room.

Dave likes his new office

But not as much as Becca likes having cupboard space in the kitchen.

The future site of spilled milk, strained peas and our first high chair.

There's no space for a TV in the family room. Drats, we will have to spend more time ...

...upstairs in the master bedroom

...and bathroom

...and Becca's half of the closet

A nice little game room upstairs.

The northwestern view of Long's peak from our bedroom window

Dave inspects the basement to see if it is suitable for a tricycle track.
