Happy Thanksgiving!

We just got back from visiting in IL for almost two weeks. Halli got to play with her cousins, who she LOVED! We visited Grandpa Gahm and Betty and we stayed with Hal's grandparents. We had a great time and really enjoyed seeing everyone.

Pumpkin Patch

Sorry I haven't blogged in forever. I just can't get back into it. For one reason, it takes FOREVER to upload any pictures. I mean, forever. However, if you aren't on facebook, you really should be. It is much easier to put pics up...so I've done a better job there.

We went to the pumpkin patch today. Poor Halli is always so sweet and happy and today she just wasn't herself. Teeth, I'm thinking. She wasn't feeling the patch...but she did attach herself to one small baby pumpkin. Tonight we also had a Halloween party at the neighbors which she would have usually loved but pooped out pretty early. So she is pumped full of Motrin at the moment, and sleeping. :)

Here are a few patch pics. Loved it. It was a close patch by our house at the Methodist Church.

And one sweet girl picture from a few days ago. Check out the two little chicklet teeth.

Birthday Party

We went to a friends birthday party this evening... Miss Zailey Mae, she is two today. It was a dog theme so we had chili dogs (Hal ate FOUR) and cookies shaped like dog bones. Super cute.

The weather was perfect, overcast so it wasn't blazing hot out like usual. The kids swam and Miss Halli got to swim with her daddy for the first time tonight. She LOVES the pool and splashing around. Don't mind that her swimsuit is a tad small, I promise she just had it on a few weeks ago and now her fat rolls on her arms are rolling over. But I guess they'd do that anyways. We had a blast.

Happy Birthday Miss Zailey!

Some sprinkler fun

We tried to figure out how to work our sprinklers tonight. This way we incur several fines as we water while we are gone a month in CO for not obeying the water restrictions. SHH, don't tell anyone.

We first thought that our aerobic system only used water from the septic tank, nice. We have since learned that there is fresh water when you turn them on the timer. So, Halli played in the sprinklers for the first time tonight. She loved it, as did I when I was a kid.

Here are a few pics from the evening. She is sporting her super cute pink swim trunks from great grandma.

A few Pictures of Halli in her "August" dress from great grandma

My Grandma makes Halli a dress every month or so. This is her "August" dress. I think it is my favorite so far...Oh so adorable. She wore it to "Sunday School" this morning. She seems to like the child care at church. She went in, sat right now and picked us some "new" toys and was like, "Alright people, let's play." Never looked back. Here are a few shots on our back patio.

The house is coming along-slowly. I should have known, it took me at least a month to pack everything up, so I should figure that amount of time for everything to find its perfect place. I am only able to get in any good amount of time "organizing" when Halli is asleep, which isn't much. So I start projects here and there and have to come back to them later. But we are LOVING our new home. Hal got his caribou hung today, so he feels unpacked and settled.

It is the perfect house for us. The floor plan is amazing and all of our furniture/stuff fits beautifully. Plus, my mom comes by all the time! I sooo love that and so does baby Halli. We are enjoying visiting with the deer every night as well.

We leave a week from tomorrow for Colorado for the month of Sept so I'm try to get organized enough to pack for an entire month. Plus I am cooking for camp the first week so I'm trying to get a menu planned and a few meals cooked and frozen in case of "Halli Emergency" one night. It will be a busy week but we are excited about going, especially getting out of the heat!

Signing off for now...

Weekend in Ft Worth

We are in Ft Worth right now for the last TTHA show. Halli is napping and I actually have a minute to catch up on emails, etc ( no internet at home yet). Here are some pics of what has been going on lately.

I might mention that when we got here yesterday I went to brush my teeth and lo and behold...Staci's bags are no where to be found. Nice. So, now we have 4 days in Ft Worth and no makeup, no clothes, and perhaps most importantly no Chi. Hal says I look like a homeless child when all I do is blow dry my hair b/c it turns into a fro. However, this hotel apparently doesn't believe in the cheap hair dryer that attaches to the wall, so I suppose I'll be purchasing a new dryer too. Ugh. When Halli wakes up we are going to Target and Ross. Don't worry though, Hal and Halli have all of their needed things here. I suppose that is what happens in Mommyhood. You are so busy taking care of everyone else, you forget about yourself. But that is ok, I love being a mommy and a wife. It's all about sacrifice, right? So my bags are nice and packed waiting for me at home. And Target is waiting for me to spend money (that I should be spending on our new house).

Jenn, Bree and I are going to see Erin, Jason, Lo and meet Baby Luke tomorrow. I am sooo excited to finally see him. I can't wait to hold that sweet little baby boy. Some days I am ready for another, and some days I want to pull my hair out. But there is nothing more precious and innocent than a baby. They melt your heart.

We are slowly but surely getting settled. My Aunt Debbie, Uncle Don and Grandma came up on Monday to help get settled. My Aunt pretty much unpacked all my boxes! And poor Uncle Don broke them all down...and don't forget they brought lunch. Seeing as how there was to be no cooking going on. They were a HUGE help in getting all the boxes out. Gram and Uncle Don manned Halli, sometimes it takes two, sometimes it takes three!

The new back yard. Everyday about 5:00 the deer come in and hang out in our backyard. I think there were about 15 this day. So cool. About 5 little fawns (although I found one that had been run over right outside our drive way-I did not do it!). Two bucks and a bunch of does. Hal, of course thinks it's the coolest thing since sliced bread. I have to admit though, I like it too.

While packing all the JUNK in our house, I came across these photos from Hal back in his college football days. Seriously, his neck was as big as my thigh.

I STILL don't know why these pictures don't turn the correct way. It drives me nuts. Here is Halli and her little tweety bird head... I love it. She has the big ol' noggin on a teeny tiny neck. Adorable. She loves to "drive," we were about to go for a swim.

She is all dressed up in her blue dress and bonnet her great grandma made her. SO adorable. My granny is the best...she gets a new dress about once a month, sometimes twice a month. So sweet.

And...it's a good thing Hal doesn't read the blog. I'm pretty sure he would freak out about the waxing picture. My girlfriend brought over her waxing kit. Let's just say ouch. But I thought Hal should give it a try, and for some reason he obliged (sp). Poor guy...there was even blood.

Lots of stuff going on...

Sorry, long time no blog.

We have had a lot going on lately. We just closed on our old house yesterday. There is nothing like selling your house and then having to pay the new owner hundreds of dollars to stay a few extra days. This whole house thing has been stress city. We close on the new house next week, then move that weekend. My house is a disaster. It looks like a cardboard box vomited in my living room there are so many boxes every where. Hal leaves for Houston today for the trade show. Halli and I decided to stay here because it is too hard to keep her entertained for that many days without all the necessary "equipment."Plus my mom is back in town from being gone 2 weeks so we can spend some time with her.

We had a garage sale last weekend. That was eventful. We made some money though and got rid of all of our stuff. Our friends from Austin came down to help and Julie is from Argentina. It was her first garage sale ever. It was was way cute. She is a bargain hunter like me and so this was right up her alley. All the left over clothes we had she is taking back to Argentina for her family and people at her church. So this makes me happy to know they are going to people who need them.

Here are a few pictures of the new house. Can't wait to get in it! Hal is super excited that there are deer everywhere and Halli will have a pet deer...

The Lord is so good.

What a blessed day we've had today.

We've been working on house stuff for what seems like forever. We locked in a good rate and then got another phone call with a better rate! I've been feeling convicted about buying a new home when some of our sweet friends are moving out of their home into an apartment to minister to that community for two years. Conviction is a good thing. I need to get off my rump and do something...but I guess it doesn't have to be move out of my house. Surely the Lord can use me elsewhere. So I've been praying that if the Lord wants us to have this house he will put into place all the needs to happen. Good rates are a good start.

Then my mom called. She has been teaching Middle School forever...seriously. Well, I've taught middle school and let me tell you, it is no walk in the park. I'd never do it again. I would work at Target before I'd go back to hormonal, stinky, drama queens and kings, "Who Am I", "Don't touch me," squirrly 13 year olds. If you are a middle schooler or are a parent of one, I apologize...not everyone is like Miss Aubrey our nieces and nephews...

So anyways, my old principal (the one I just resigned from) called her and offered her a job! This is fabulous news! It is at a wonderful high school, closer to her house...Such a blessing. This will make her last few years before retirement so much easier. I am so happy for her! Plus she can use all my stuff!

On a side note...we were in the car for all of 5 or 10 minutes on the way home from the grocery store and my pizza crust exploded because it is so ridiculously hot outside. Looks like we are having pizza for dinner tonight!

I've been a bad blogger

It's been awhile since I've blogged...sorry. But alot has gone on since then...Let's see...

We drove to Mississippi in one weekend for a work function for Hal a couple weekends ago...it was great.

I have a new nephew...Baby Luke. He is precious. I have not met him yet but hope to very soon.

We lost a house and I think we got it back now...

Put on the market and sold our house...

Got to see my dad twice...

Went to CO for almost two weeks...

I'm sure there are lots of other things that I have forgotten by this point.

We just got back last night from CO. A very long drive. 15 hours long. We left at 2:30 am and got in at 6:30. We stopped and saw my dad at Dairy Queen for an hour to visit (and Halli apparently wanted ice cream). Halli did really good on the trip though. I want to pull my hair out and I can see out...I can imagine 15 hours in a carseat.

This morning we got up and went at (hopefully) our new home. We spent a good time of our time in CO working on this...we found a home before we left for CO and it had two offers on it. Basically it came down to ours not even being on the market yet and the other buyers had a contract on their home. Long story short, their financing fell through so it looks like it may be ours after all. We signed all the papers this morning and hope to lock in a good rate on Monday...so if anyone knows of any GOOD lenders let me know asap...meaning before Monday. I am super excited but still worried something may fall through. And if so, I suppose God has something else for us. It's a good thing someone has already put a contract on our house (we listed it last weds and have it sold already!) because it looks like a bomb went off since we got home.

I've posted a few pics. I still need to download some from the other camera but here are a few. Halli LOVED the 4 wheeler. We went out almost everyday and she would sit in her baby bjorn and just sing and talk (and nap) while we rode. I now have a very rotten baby though. We have about 8 other friends up with us and Halli's little feet never hit the ground. Now she is wondering why she isn't being entertained 24 hours a day or riding a 4 wheeler.

Our Life Story...

One of my favorite quotes is "You are the author of your own life story..." How true is that???? So, here is a brief glimpse into our life story. It's not always super exciting (actually-it is pretty exciting), but it's always blessed...

About Me

Really, it's not about me, it's about us...We've almost been married two years now!!!! I can't believe it. I think I can honestly say it's been the best two years of my life. Who knew marriage could be so wonderful? I sure didn't. I have the most wonderful husband on the entire planet. Although, I'm sure some of my friends would argue that their husband is the best...But you know, if you marry your God Given Soul Mate-I'll let you have that one. Yours is the most wonderful man for you!!! And to all my girlfriends who have married that man, I am SO happy for you because you know how great marriage can be. And if you haven't found him yet, don't give up. Just be patient...He is out there somewhere, just waiting for the perfect time to come into your life. I can't imagine that it's going to get any better...I suppose just "different" yet awesome, once our baby gets here. I am thankful each day for all God has given us...
