vampire diaries

I have been on a Vampire Diaries marathon for the past 6 hours or so. Which means I'm currently paused at 14:44 minutes into episode 7. And I paused because...

..this Stefan guy is getting annoying. What with his repetitive apologies ("I'm so, so, sorry" x 100), his promises to not let anyone get hurt (and the next minute into the show someone gets gnawed on chomp chomp chomp), his non-answers even after the girl knows he's a vampire ("How long has it been since you last tasted human blood?" "...it's been a while...") asdfghjkl; Seriously? You've been around for 162 years dude, so wtf does 'a while' mean.

But then again, I have sat through 6 hours of cheesy dialogue and mindless action trying to disguise itself as plot. Why. Because I'm a girl argh and I am just waiting for the bad boy to start going all softie for the girl. Ian Somerhalder is hot. Oh and the show is based on a book by L.J. Smith, and I suddenly understood why this show is popular. I was a big fan of another of L.J. Smith's trilogies, called 'The Forbidden Game'. She hits all the right buttons: bad boy, good guy, girl in the middle. The bad boy having a real soft spot for the sweet girl...but alas, the truth is he can't change who is. If the show follows L.J. Smith's style to the T, the bad boy won't get the girl in the end. So we'll see how CW has chosen to adapt the show.

Who's the girl? Some Elena girl. Really, just think Isabella Swan, but with way more personality and way less dialogue in which the words seemed to be painfully ripped out of her chest, which I guess the tortured speech is meant to signify something like tortured soul or something, but really, just meant a torturous viewing experience for me.

Rant over, can't sit myself through another episode, goodnight.

into the dark

If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks, I will follow you...

Hello. Blogging from CH's laptop, because my laptop is facing the black screen of not-quite-death. Sent it for repairing already and it's gonna set me back about AUD 270 *hiccup*. Aiyo, and I'm still considering getting a new Macbook Pro or an iPhone 4 white, but I SHALL RESISTTTTTTTTT

Do you know how broke I am? I'm broke like a flower vase on hard floor (-___-)

Still got brunches coming up! I love brunches to bits, but man, can they punch craters in your pockets. I made brownies! Two batches! They taste like brownies, I guess, but maybe too kao/too sweet.

Wow, I've been laptopless for about 9 days now! But when I get to blog I just want to continue watching Vampire Diaries. The show has more cheese in their lines than lasagna, but I guess...I'm just a girl underneath this -___- exterior.

and the deejay

and the deejay, and the deejay,...

Just arrived home about half an hour ago from Sher's birthday dinner :) Happy 20th Birthday, dear Shereena! We had dinner at Roccoco in St. Kilda. It's a nice place with low lighting, creating a cosy warm ambience, but it could be a tad too low for some people. I liked it though, and the seafood pizza that was recommended by Sher was really very nice! They weren't stingy with the seafood, too. My slice had a nice juicy scallop and squid as well as prawns, tomatoes and spinach. We also had a pasta dish, another pizza, and a salad. Dessert was Greco's at Chapel St., where 6 of us ordered one serving of Mars Bars Cheesecake and two servings of Greco's Mudcake to share. Gosh, the mudcake is seriously so rich and delicious. Warm chocolate cake, swimming in hot chocolate sauce with a dollop of icecream. Too good.

Shereena! I've known her since Form 1 and how thankful I am that we were in 1 Browser together. And although we've never since then been in the same class, we've remained friends. I'm so glad to have her in my life. She gives great advice, be it from clothes to life - she is truly someone I'm blessed to have around. I'm happy to see you so happy in life now, and I hope many many many more good things will come your way, dear :) Hope you like your present, haha. Just a little something to pamper yourself with...

Anyway, I'm home now, warm from the shower and in my sleep pants and hoodie which smells comfortingly like lavender soap and body lotion. Feeling nice and cosy, The Smiths playing in the background...I could fall asleep any moment :) Goodnight!

ps: typing this from my mobile phone, and it's really very troublesome and the only reason why i typed out a whole post is because it would be a waste to not type out a post after waiting so long for the page to load and navigate to this page. i really avoid web browsing with my phone. it's frustrating and this phone really wasn't made for websurfing of any kind. even the simplest pages takes ages to load and the phone often announces that it is 'timed out' or 'out of memory' ugh. just get an iPhone 4, everyone, and why is this postscript so long ass i should have just written it as a paragraph on its own haha.

get along with you

I could stick around...

Sitting around watching Masterchef while waiting for dinner to cook. They're in New York City this week. Man, seeing Central Park on Masterchef already had a slight surreal quality. I'd like to go there some day :)

I woke up quite early this morning, despite having slept at 4:00 am yesterday. I've finished reading Perks...and I really enjoyed it. I teared a few times, and the short novel had that almost perfect tone that a 'coming of age' novel should have: slightly painful, raw, confused and with a tinge of nostalgia at the end. I have to read it again, but not right away.

Woke up at 8:00 am, got ready, then headed out to Camberwell Sunday Market. It was a cold morning, but soon after leaving te apartment the sun began to shine and it was really quite a nice day :) At the market, I got a set of the first four Harry Potter books for my sister at AUD 20 which is a steal if you ask me! Sure the books were second hand, but you'd never tell EXCEPT for the slight crease down the middle of the book spines. Also got a Smiths DVD for myself and an ACDC DVD for my dad. I haven't gotten anything for my mum at the moment, but I will! Lunch was at Hoi's Cafe, because the brunch place Madame Mango's was closed. Looks like they close on Sundays...but I really wasn't expecting that because brunch places don't usually close on Sundays....or do they? Haha.

Came home and it was the perfect day for a nap, causing me to miss out on gym today :P But I'll just go tomorrow! Okay dinner time. Slightly tempted to reread Harry Potter instead of Catch 22, but no! :P

you're feeling the same

I'm feeling fine...

This was from Tuesday, when Carmen and I headed to Proud Mary in Collingwood for brunch. I was extremely delighted that the colour of my nail polish was the exact shade of blue as the saucers! I couldn't stop looking at it and placing my nails on the edge of the saucer just to seehow exactly the same they are. Even looking back at the photos makes me happy :3

...ugh I remember now why I stopped making photos a regular feature of my blog posts. Uploading them is such a hassle! Mood to upload that I had at the start of this post is diminishing at an increasing rate...

Okay here they come!

Amboi, sepetnyer mataku.

Today, I headed over to Footscray! I had lunch there after visiting the market :) Yum, broken rice! I don't know if most people like it, but I do, and I had a craving for it which is now satisfied!

I marinated some lamb cutlets and I'm keeping them in the fridge overnight. I don't know how to cook them! I bought those cutlets on a whim -__- I'll just Google tomorrow and if nothing interesting comes up, I'll just pan fry them haha! And now it's 9:20 pm oh gosh. See, waiting for photos to upload is a serious pain.

capture your heart

they have nothing that'll ever...

I thought I'd transfer some photos from my camera tonight, but I forgot to grab the camera off the table before getting comfortable and cosy under the covers so...I'll do that tomorrow.

I got my copy of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in the mailbox on Wednesday, and I was so happy it buoyed me through the next day. Even now when I see the book lying on the table, I stroke it reverently and flip through the pages. How distracting. I was just starting on Catch 22 when Perks arrived. I thought I'd finish Catch 22 first before moving on but it's been slow going, especially since I keep on picking up Perks for guilty indulgences in a few pages of text at a time.

So screw it, I'll read Perks first and scratch that itch, since I'll be finishing Perks much faster than Catch 22, that's for sure.

"Charlie, we accept the love we think we deserve."
|Bill, The Perks of Being a Wallflower|

That's a quote for you. This was in reponse to Charlie revealing that his sister was seeing a boy who hits her.
