Baja and Granchild week 2011

For Spring break, as we have done for many years now, we went to Baja with my Grandparents. It was a load of fun as usual! We had the Grandparents there, of course, the 5 of us, Caleb, Kimmy, and Erin. This year was a little different, Colin and his family werent able to come down, and then as a surprise Caleb went down early with us and the Grandparents, and then Brandy and her Dad came down Monday! We missed having Hailey and Addison there, but it was a lot of fun to get to spend time with Caleb! I can never get enough of my kids enjoying the same things I enjoyed as a kid. They always have so much fun down there even if we cant stay the entire week. The weather was nice, when we first got there it was a little chilly, and then Sunday was still a little cold, but a little windy too, but Monday and Tuesday became really nice sunny days so we were really lucky!

The tide went up really high this year, it went all the way up to the stairs, it was just our little tiny section where we were sitting that was safe from waves. I love when this happens, because it gives the kids little tide pools they can splash around in. So, this day was Sunday, we had a little church meeting at the house in the morning, and then it was still a little chilly, so we decided not to waste the time changing the kids, because I really didnt think they were gonna want to be in the water.... Boy was I wrong! The tide was just too perfect and tempting for these monkeys to pass up!
Jake the cool dude.. (protecting his eyes from the breeze blowing sand)
Lily and Caleb were basically head to toe drenched before we went inside.
Before we went inside though, Caleb couldnt resist rolling in the sand!
The kids had a lot of fun riding quads this year, and they all did really well! No accidents or funny happenings to report, unlike the days when I was a kid! Too many stories! I put the picture of Caleb here though, because he was so funny, once he found the 80 hes riding in the picture I think he decided the little 50 was too slow for him... he was so funny to watch because we'd see him go up a little hill and try to stand up and lift the bike a little to catch some air! He is younger than Lily! (ps. sometimes I'm thankful my kids are a little bit scared of trying things like that :) Seriously I get nervous with them and the quads! Didnt I mention I have too many stories??
We always have at least one kid fall asleep at the table from an exhausting day of fun!

At Shell beach
Grandpa thought it would be funny to pull this little dump truck around behind the Ranger. We all were cracking up on the beach! We are so lucky to have wonderful Grandparents that let us enjoy so many things!
