I know I know . . . No blog post in AGES . . . . talk about not winning any mom-of-the-year awards. Does it matter that I have declared a chicken-nugget-challenge in our house with NO pre-made nuggets during the week? We have made it over two months (not counting Chic-Fil-A on occasional weekend nights when CC babysits). In case you’re wondering, homemade coconut chicken nuggets are SO easy and so YUMMY and so “whole food” {I like to give myself a pat on the back every once in while -- at least until Mr. Magee has the girls solo for dinner and orders pizza – ha!}. Anyway, we’ve been busy – per usual. But here is a little sneak-peak of what we have been up to, since . . . um . . . April? Be prepared for a LOT LOT LOT of photos . . . . I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. The super-quick run down is: (1) Anne Louise, Spencer and Cousin Harper love playing dress-up {or maybe I should say dress-down?}, (2) AL and Spencer might both have a future on stage {check out the clogging performance at High Hampton and AL’s AWESOME 2-dance performance at her ballet recital}, and (3) we have an AMAZING SUPER GREAT family – from the Magees to the Wilsons to the Bauers to our extended family (we are lucky to have such special and dear friends) and everyone once in a while, we have a great time just being the four of us – The Pat Magees. Without further adieu --
April Showers bring . . .
A visit from KLH (kevin, leslie and cousin harper . . . pre-cousin hayden and pre-becoming KLH2)
{in case you’re wondering – and before you report us to DSS – the girls picked out AND dressed themselves in these outfits . . . apparently, they are still mastering their sense of style}
Next, came a visit from Grandi and Granny (while were at our good friends’ Cat and Graham’s awesome wedding in Wilmington) AND a big celebration of Granny’s 90th bday
May Means . . .
Memorial Day at High Hampton (and a BIG SUPER-HUGE Congrats to Joan and Kris on their engagement)
June was JUST as awesome . . .
AL’s big ballet recital . . . and she actually DANCED this time {as opposed to just saying ‘Hi Mommy”} . . . she danced like a precious little ballerina - pointed toes, watched the teacher and TOTALLY rocked it out! {proof she danced (via super-blurry videos): http://youtu.be/8VLTWOAYBDc and http://youtu.be/MNhRlp8-AM8}
After being in the purple class for a year, she is SO ready for the pink class (and, in fact, obsesses over talks about and pretends to be in the pink class on a weekly, if not daily, basis)!!CC gave AL a sweet little ballerina bear!
And we celebrated with a little brunch (and shuffleboard of course) at Zada Janes:
June also meant a trip to St. Augustine, Florida, with Ritchie and Mumsy – the best godparents (and dance party hosts) EVER!!
June has also meant TONS of pool time. Weezy took swim lessons this spring, and it has sure paid off. She loves to jump off the diving board {especially with our friend Doug, whom she says is “Awesome” – her words, I promise}. Spencer is a little fish, too, and after a few tries (a little big of crying, and a little bit of “dunking”), she FINALLY started to LOVE swimming in the big pool. BOTH girls have had a blast swimming with friends, especially the Moodys (aka the “triplets”).
Needless to say, we have had a great Spr-Ummer (spring and summer). Thanks to the iPhone and Instagram, we’ve managed to post some big events like AL’s swimming lessons and her first dentist appt, but Mama and Daddy have had some fun too (the wedding in Wilmington was awesome) – we just always fail to take pics. One cool thing was that Mama got to spend the day with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – who is not only super smart, but also AMAZINGLY COOL and HILARIOUS. We’ve done some “little things” too like special days with the girls (AL chose pedicures for her special day, but poor little Spencer was sick on her special day).
July 4th week brought lots of fun, too (parades, swimming, beach time in Va Beach), but since this post is already full enough, I’ll save the Fourth for its own post . . . lets just hope it comes sometime before October! Because, as you may know, in the Magee house, JUST when things start to take a slow pace, something chaotic always happens:
