Trick or Treat

I am a little late posting this but Halloween was so much fun. Halle dressed up as a spider this year. She loved her costume so much that she would cry when we had to take it off to put her in her car seat. It was so cute watching her try to knock on the door, hold her pail and wait for candy. She thought it was awesome. By the time we made the rounds she was pretty exhausted.

We also carved pumpkins a few days before Halloween. I love carving pumpkins. We did Halle's pumpkin like Mickey Mouse since he is her absolute favorite. Sorry the picture is kind of blurry.

I have to say how excited I am for the holidays. Is it just me? I just love this time of year. I always get excited way too early. I have already been thinking about how to decorate for Christmas this year. Only sixteen days until I get to put up the tree:)

Halle's Pumpkin

Halle is getting so big. She has been walking now for about two months. Actually, now she is pretty much running. She is also talking so much. Most of what she is saying is in her own language but it is fun to listen to. I took some pictures of her yesterday. Sorry they are not the most centered pictures. She would not hold still so I thought maybe if I brought in her pumpkin she would play with it. Well, that wasn't enough, she wanted the wrist thing off of my camera. So that's what she is playing with in the pictures. Then she was trying to pick up her pumpkin and roll it around. I don't know why we spend money on toys for kids. They find a way to make a toy out of anything. I am excited for Halloween. I love decorating for all of the holidays. This is such a fun time of year.

Halle's First Birthday

Last Tuesday Halle turned one. I can't believe how fast that year went by. Halle has been the greatest blessing in our lives. She has the funniest personality. Everyday she reminds me to relax a little and take time out to play and laugh with her. She has been the best baby anyone could ask for. We love her so much and feel so grateful we get to be her parents. So to celebrate her big day we had a party for her on Saturday. I think she had fun. I got her this adorable dress about a year ago for her to wear to her birthday party. She got totally spoiled by all of her relatives. She especially loved the cupcakes. Yes, that's plural, cupcakeS. Dad snuck her another one while I was cleaning. I am sure she appreciated it:) Surprisingly enough she didn't get as messy as I thought she would. Don't get me wrong it was a mess by the end, but we actually had to encourage her to really dig in. She just kept dipping her finger in the frosting and licking it off. We had a lot of fun celebrating our special girl turning one. Here are a BUNCH of pictures from the party.

The 4th of July

The Fourth of July was a busy but fun day. We had a backyard BBQ at our house with some family. It was a lot of fun. We had a little swim pool for the kids and Halle loved it. I think she would have stayed in there all day if I let her.

After everybody was done eating we just relaxed and talked for a while. Later that evening we went to watch the fireworks. Derek got permission to use a balcony at the office where he works so we could watch the fireworks. It was nice and it was a really good view.

Halle wasn't really all that interested in the fireworks. Maybe next year she will like them more. After the fireworks we went home and went to bed after a very long day. I cant believe the Fourth of July has already come and gone. Summer is going by so quickly.

Crawling, Teething, Waving...

I couldn't really tell you what we have been up to the past couple of months. Nothing really big but just a lot of every day stuff that is keeping us very busy. Halle is learning so many new things. She had been crawling backwards for just over a month. Then on her nine month birthday she woke up and decided to crawl forward, just like that. Now my life is very busy chasing her around. I have never said "no" so much in my life. Then just a few days later she learned to wave bye-bye. She is getting her two top teeth also. Here are a few pics of her.

This is Halle on Easter. She got the movie Bolt (which she absolutely loves), a few books, a dress, and a pink bunny from the Easter Bunny:) With all of that she liked the little plastic eggs the best.

These are just a few pictures of Halle crawling around the house. She loves being able to get around. I can't say the same for our dog. She chases the dog around all day. I also wanted to mention my first Mother's Day. Derek got me a new out-fit and purse and Halle got me a little greenhouse with sunflower seeds to grow. It is pretty cute. I know people say this all the time but I love being a mom. Sure sometimes it is hard but the good things way out weigh all the hard things. Halle is the sweetest little baby girl and I love her so much. I am really lucky to be her mom.

6 Months and Counting

It's been a while since I have posted anything. I guess I just haven't felt like blogging lately. Some fun stuff has been going on in the past couple weeks. Derek and I had our five year anniversary on February 6th. It is so crazy that time has gone by so fast. We have had so much fun and a lot has changed along the way. I really don't like to get mushy with everyone ( I save that for Derek) but he really is just such a good husband and father. I am so lucky to have him. He is my best friend. Derek can make me laugh when I don't feel like laughing and is a really positive and motivated guy. He helps me with stuff around the house and with Halle on top of working. Ok, I am getting mushy:) Halle is so lucky to have a dad that is so involved in her life. She doesn't know it yet but she has him wrapped around her finger. I am sure she will learn that soon enough. Speaking of Halle, on the fourth of this month she turned six months old. She is more and more fun every day. Derek and I are so happy that she is in our lives. She is such a good baby. I seriously don't know how I lucked out. We love her so much. Here are some fun pictures that I took the other day.

Bananas!!!

So, is it just me or is this time of year kind of ...oh I don't know... boring or something. I always anticipate the coming season about three or four months before it actually gets here. I am trying not to do that this year but I can't help it. I want warm weather with green grass and flowers blooming. I guess it will be here soon enough. With that being said I am trying to take joy in the little things. Yesterday I fed Halle bananas for the first time. It is so funny to watch someone experience something for the very first time. Here are a few pictures that I thought were pretty funny.
