Tibet Film Festival and Wolfmen Team-Up

The Tibet Film Festival pitches up in London today, running until the end of July, before taking a tour around the UK.

Films, readings and occasionally live music performances (more on that later) will be hosted at select venues across the UK’s capitol city including the ICA, Riverside Studios, Roxy Bar & Screen and Ritzy Picturehouse

What can you expect on the menu? New films themed around twin topics: environment and music - from young and emerging Tibetan, Indian and women filmmakers.

Showing at Riverside Studios on Monday the 5th is Nmgyal Lhamo’s award Paradise Lost - this powerful music video featuring Tibetan opera singer Namgyal Lhamo is full of compelling imagery and movement that stands as a metaphor for the plight of her homeland, with an unusually striking combination of traditional Tibetan music and indie rock. Music written, performed and produced by The Wolfmen

Preview screenings and introductions take place tonight at Cinephilia West (doors open 8:30) but it will be busy, so get along early.

The full festival rundown is available here – with all information, dates and details available at the Tibet Film Festival website.

Do Elephants Pray - Director's Cut

Remember how we promised a taste test of The Wolfmen's contribution to Paul Hill's multi-award winning movie Do Elephants Pray?

True to our word, here unwrapped for the first time, is the world exclusive of Nothing Else Matters - a bespoke piece created for Do Elephants Pray's heady, closing moments. It's a track featuring the full Wolfmen line up with Chris doubling up on flute and bass.

As a bonus feature why not beam yourself here - to get inside the mind of director Paul Hills' when he takes a trip to The Wolfmen's lair for the recording session of Nothing Else Matters, and Pete Stevenson's explosive enthusiam for the band goes into overdrive.

Wolfmen in Award Winning Film: Do Elephants Pray?

Question? What is the connection between Dr Who, Jackie Says, Cecilie and Do Elephants Pray ? Answer:Director Paul hills

It's no overstatement to say the latest Paul Hills movie Do Elephants Pray is a critical smash-hit. The film (featuring an unreleased Wolfmen tune) has won multiple industry and festival awards and looks to be the most explosive cinematic project The Wolfmen have been involved with to date. Paul has previous history with The Wolfmen having directed videos for Jackie Says , and Cecilie - and prior to this working with Chris and Jackieonassid videos.

So what song appears on the soundtrack - a minty new tune Nothing Else Matters featuring the full band line up in a scene described as trippy and viby. We may post a snippet of the song soon, so check back.

But, while you're waiting - why not head over the official Do Elephants Dream website to have your say on poster designs. Oh, and the Dr Who connection, Paul Hills was the first to give Life on Mars and Dr Who star John Simm his break in Boston Kickout

London Brawling

The UK press are forecasting scenes of Anarchy in the UK, street fighting men, fist-flying riots, skull-cracking and Banker-breaking in the City of London today - typically all this huff 'n' puff is over-hype , but should it kick off today - The Wolfmen have the perfect soundtrack to kick out the jams.....

Hot Dogging

There's a line spoken by Eno on his debut album - 'Oh cheeky, cheeky - oh naughty, sneaky' - that could almost be a thumbnail summary for one steamy scene appearing in a new brand new, Brit-flick - 'Dogging:A Love Story' - that's hitting UK cinemas this spring

So why are we previewing this romping 'n' rolling snippet of cinematic action on the Bocca Blog? Because Director Simon Ellis, has chosen to soundtrack this moment of 'in car entertainment' with The Wolfmen's cover of Eno's 'Needles In The Camel's Eye'

But, be warned sensitive bloggers and browsers, it is slightly lively, so best be discreet when having a peep or two...
