Biiiiike!

One of Sean's favorite activities is riding his tricycle. A couple days ago he started peddling by himself! Here's some video...

Summer has basically come to an end, and the fall season is emerging. My MOPS group(Mothers of Preschoolers) is back in session after a summer break and I'm thrilled to be the creative activities director this year. Today was our first day back and Sean was such a big boy in the Moppets childcare. No tears and he got along great, they say.

The biggest new development is that Sean will be attending "preschool" once a week (3 hours) starting this month. We know it will be great for him to be in that structured and social environment with others his age. In addition to that, we also have lots of playdates planned with our MOPS friends. Here are some photos of Sean earlier this month during one of our preschool visits...

More summer fun!

Here are some random pics from this summer so far. We've been having fun at the pool, splash park, Wild Animal Park, Zoo, and more! Enjoy!

June

June has truly zoomed by. We haven't had too many pool opportunities lately. I hope July does!

The biggest thing this past month was my surgery on June 16th. It went very smoothly, only stayed in the hospital that first night, and now two weeks out I'm feeling 100%! Special thanks to Mom, Derek, and my fellow MOPS moms for all their hard work and help!

We love having out Zoo and Wild Animal Park passes. Here are some pics from our most recent Wild Animal Park trip. Sean was much more interested that last time, although I still think the ducks are his favorite. Go figure!

Watching Daddy feed the birds.
Sean sticks his fingers in his nose when he's nervous. Strange child!
Telling the birds goodbye!
Taking the tram tour. He hated when it stopped.

Petting the animals. He wouldn't do this last time.

Come out and play!

May: Florida Trip

I blame Facebook for my huge gap in blogging. I apologize, and highly recommend you go ahead and get a Facebook account if you don't have one already. I just may be addicted!

So I'm not sure what happened in April so I can't blog about that month. In May we finally took a trip to Florida to see family. Sean got to meet a ton of family he's never met before. I was impressed at how quickly he warmed up and made himself at home. It was sooooo sweet seeing him with his cousins. Sean came home with a few new skills and interests, especially his new LOVE of cars. Thanks cousin Brennan! We were there for Mother's Day. I was happy that Derek could finally spend a Mother's Day with his mom... it had been years. I think they both really needed it.

Here are some pics of the trip:

Wild Animal Park

We finally became Zoo and Wild Animal Park members. We figured Sean is showing a lot of interest in animals so it's nice to be able to visit either park anytime. We took a quick afternoon trip to the Wild Animal Park a couple weeks ago. We should be going to the zoo in a few days. It'll be Sean's first time!
Not too surprisingly, I think Sean's favorite part were the ducks. He wouldn't feed them himself, but he stood with Derek as he fed them. I'm not sure what he thought of the gorillas. I guess he was a little stunned. He did okay at the petting area. He didn't care to actually touch anything, but he was quite excited about the deer taking breaks behind the small fence.
