Goodbye to Australia
What a trip!!!! Amazing!!! I can't even pick a favorite city or favorite adventure. There were so many and they were all so different. Snuggling our koala, seeing Scarface in his habitat, walking along the beach, snorkeling with sea turtles, touring the opera house, family dinners at our Air B&B's, the wine (and more wine), driving on the wrong side of the road and laughing when the guys turned on the windshield wipers when they meant to use the turn signal. The quality time spent as a family walking, talking, laughing, and more walking.... sweet memories I will always cherish. The only state we didn't see was Western Australia - guess we will have to go back...
Now we are "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaitng!!!!" for our next big adventure! ;)

pretty sure they watched 13 hours of TV
Exhausted in San Fran but only 3.5 hours from home :)

Port Douglas - Day 6 - Goodbye Tropical Paradise
Our last day in Port Douglas :(
We checked out of our beautiful villa and went the long way back to the airport. The long way was up over those mountains (hills) in search of the outback. We never really found the red dirt, but we did see hundreds and hundreds of termite mounds. This was interesting to me because the wood that is used to make the didgeridoo (Aboriginal instrument) is hollowed out by termites... it was easy to understand how so many trees could be attacked by these termites when we saw how many mounds there were everywhere.
We ended our drive at Barron Gorge Falls and the village close by, Kuranda... where mommy and daddy got their souvenirs... :)

Time to catch our flight to Sydney to say our goodbyes to this beautiful continent....

Port Douglas - Day 5 - Port Douglas Market and some R&R
The Sunday Market at Port Douglas is a great place for souvenirs, snacks and people watching. Taylor finally found her fedora... we went into a few shops along the way looking for this hat ;)
After the market, it was back to the house to swim in our teeny pool. It's amazing how much fun you can have in a teeny tiny pool..
We typically finished our days like this... playing phase 10. We didn't play a game of phase 10 each night but we played ONE game of phase 10 over 4-5 nights... now that is a LOOOONNNNGGGG game with 6 people playing. :) Good times though....
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAITING!!!! (inside joke)

Port Douglas - Day 4 - THE GREAT BARRIER REEF!!!!
Easily one of my favorite days... for so many reasons....
We went with Quicksilver tours out to a platform on the reef. Our site was called Agincourt Reef and was on the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef. The boat was huge and there was alot of people with us, but once we got off the boat and started snorkling we felt completely alone... It was fantastic.

We were pretty excited on our way out the reef and no one got sea sick!
