Been a while

I'm trying to get back into my blogging.  Here are pictures to start.  First day of school...last days of summer.  The girls are growing like crazy.

Graduating

Lots of graduating is taking place in our family this year. Kayla graduated from preschool, Kenna from Kindergarten, and me from WGU with a bachelor's in Elem. Ed. I'm overjoyed by my accomplishment. When I got married, I had an associate degree. I wanted to finish then, but circumstances didn't really allow it and then I had a baby girl, and another, and another. For the past 2 years I felt as though I was being pulled by the arms and legs in different directions. I thought I'd rip right in half sometimes, especially when I had to leave my girls and student teach full time. What a great learning experience it was though. I learned a lot about teaching and schools, and how incredibly unbelievably awesome--on both ends of the spectrum-- some parents are. I experienced being a working mother---not fun! Well, teaching was enjoyable, for sure, but I'm a mom, I can't help it. Good news is that it's now summer and school is over. I have all the time in the world to spend with my girls. That means cartwheels in the yard, picnics, tea parties, slip n' slides, and the list goes on and on and on. Happy Summer, and happy graduation to you if you have graduated this year!

Easter

Here are some fun pictures. Halle is getting so big! Wish time would slow down. I just finished up my student teaching and will graduate soon. I have been enjoying every second with my girls this weekend. I still feel like I'll have to get up and leave them again tomorrow. I sound so sappy, but I have hated leaving them every morning and I have missed seeing Jason. We have had a lot less time together the last 4 months. I look forward to things getting back to a routine. I have so much more time on my hands that I have felt a little aimless. The last two years I have had school hanging over me. Not having that pressure is wonderful and takes a little getting use to. Guess I need to start making lists to keep me productive. I have been working hard in the yard and trying to reorganize my house that I didn't touch for 4 months. I'm so excited for Summer and I can't wait to get out the kayaks, host BBQs, see family (hopefully), do bike rides, and just be with my family--school free!!!

Chalk Challenge

A couple of days ago we went to a side walk chalk drawing "contest." It was mainly for kids ages 0-5 yrs old so it wasn't much of a contest, but more just for fun. This all took place at the girls favorite place, which they named, "the pond park." It has two play areas a large pond with ducks and fish, and a fun trail that goes into the "magical forest." The girls had a lot of fun drawing (as always) and then they got a prize bag and an ice cream cone. What more could a kid want? I love these summer days!

Also, Jason will be home in 3 days. I'm so ready for him to get back! Can't wait to feel like a family again!

Trying to keep busy

I've just been trying to keep busy until Jason gets home. Only 12 days left. I have had a lot on my mind, but honestly am too tired to share it here and now so instead, here's a bit of what we've been up to. Enjoy!

We went to a U-Pick strawberry farm. The girls had fun picking and then after we had strawberry shortcake. Yum.

Halle was happy the whole time except when I tried to take a picture!

Just thought this was funny because I was just doing a test snapshot and didn't realize I was in the mirror.

Backyard Fun: It's been in the 90s with high humidity causing it to feel over 100 degrees. No big deal except that in Maine it's no common to have A/C. Our basement stays nice and cool but ya gotta get out a little!

Just a cute picture--What was I thinking buying a swimming suit that is sized for a 9 month old for my 4 month old baby? I underestimated the chubb!

Water Party!

Today was nice weather so we had friends over for a water party. I finally dragged out the little pool and bought some slip n' slides. We have a nice little hill in the back yard (you can see from the previously posted photos) that we put the slip n' slides on for even greater fun-woo hoo!

Here are a few pictures of the fun.

Summer Time Pictures

Here is what we have been up to this summer. It's been pretty busy!

Kenna building her sand castle (PEI).

Kayla learned to pump while we were at PEI. No one would push her so she got on the swing and when we looked over she was just pumping herself higher and higher with a big smile.

Kayla playin on the beach (PEI)

One side of the beach on PEI looked like this but the other we perfect sandy beach with warm water.

Prince Edward Island. The girls thought these were the coolest chairs.

The main reason we went to Utah was for John and Sarah's wedding. Here are the happy couple after the big day as they came to say goodbye before they headed down to St. George for the rest of the honey moon. You guys look good with kids (hint hint).

Kayla and her cousin Lucas

Kenna and her Cousin Sam.

One of the highlights of our trip to Utah was being able to see baby Crew. Mckenna loved holding him.

Kayla loves to try the monkey bars
