So it has been a MONTH or a few months to be exact and I think maybe just maybe if I am ever going to see the window my Heavenly Father is opening, I first need to be on my knees in gratitude for the things I have been blessed with. Not gripe so much about the things I have lost or don't have and just thank my Heavenly Father for what he has given me. And what better time to do so than on THANKSGIVING!!
This is going to be long so feel free to NOT read on if you don't have time or just plain don't want to. This is more about me anyways, not about who all reads it. Just need to publicly voice how GRATEFUL I am... I am doing a list to make it less lengthy and I am sure they wont all make sense to everyone but they should make sense to someone :) or I hope they do....here it goes
1. I am grateful for my son Trevor whom truly saved my life when he was born! Each day is an adventure and I am grateful for the fun he has brought into my life. He is such a silly boy and he knows when mama needs a laugh.
2. I am grateful for Repentance and the process the lord has in place to help us along the very long hard path out of sin and sadness.
3. I am grateful for my Heavenly Father's forgiveness which I know I do not deserve.
4. I am grateful for the family I am blessed with, which without I do not know where I would be today. They are my best friends my role models my heros. They teach me what eternal love is like and help me so I might be able to spend eternity with them.
5. I am grateful for a sister who despite how undeserving I have been at times has always been my biggest cheerleader. She has been there for me no matter how bad things were, she has sung to me to keep me from harm, she has hugged me to let me know I am loved, she has provided for me my whole life and I will never be able to repay her. She truly is my Hero.
6. I am grateful for the gospel and how no matter where I have been in my life I have known of its truth and it has always been there strong and true, unwavering, welcoming me back.
7. I am grateful for friends who never give up on me, who will call me until I answer (sometimes it takes a while) :( and who love me even when I don't know why any one would.
8. I am grateful for having been blessed to have been in love. And being able have felt loved in return, it hasn't always been the case for me. And so I am grateful that my Heavenly Father has healed my heart and allowed me to feel what real love is when you aren't broken, and shown me how love should be when it is real and he is the one in charge of that relationship.
9. I am grateful for being able to have had that love and even when you loose it and it hurts so bad you cant breath, it is something I forget to realize to be grateful for. I have been to the place of being numb and not feeling anything. And so feeling lose is something to be grateful for because it means you also felt the amazingness that is the opposite of losing the one you love.
10. I am grateful that no matter what my work life has looked like whether I be employed or not I have never had to feel what it is like to have nothing and no where to go and I am grateful to have always had a place to live and food to eat.
11. I am grateful for the temple, for the glorious peace I feel when I speak to my heavenly father about it. And the knowledge I have that allows me to feel so much love for not only my savior but our prophets throughout the scriptures and for our modern day prophet whom I have a testimony of that he is the head of the lord church that he has been called of god and leads us in the ways we should go. He is a wonderful man.
12. Which brings me to my next grateful, I am grateful for our prophet and being able to hear his speak, he lifts my spirit and feeds my soul with his council. ANd also the council of the other leaders of this glorious church.
13. I am grateful for the knowledge that the Lord has a plan for my life one that has been in place since the beginning, I am grateful that he has my eternal happiness in his plan, and that I can always call on him to help guide me in the ways he would have me go.
14. I am grateful for the knowledge that no one is perfect and that they do the best they can and you can not allow others to make you into something you are not. Because of hurt feelings or opinions. I am grateful for my saviors example of unconditional love for others.
15. I am grateful for my savior dying for my sins and making up for my VAST short comings.
16. I am grateful for adversity, for the knowledge that nothing great ever came except through adversity. So I am grateful that my heavenly father loves me enough to allow me to learn and grown and fail sometimes. But still picks me back up and helps me to return to the right path.
I said this would be long and it is, and I could go on about ALL I have to be thankful for, like Fall and the cool weather and wonderful smells of this time of year, but those pale in comparison to the ones I truly feel are weighing on my heart. But I am grateful for every thing I have, everything I have yet to have come into my life, and for all the small little things that make you pause for a moment and smile just a lil. Knowing your Father in Heaven has put that little insignificant thing in your path to help just you. :)
Thanks for allowing me to share, but with everything I have lost recently. I felt it time to stop being gripeful...and be grateful for my life. Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving and hope you can find all the wonderful things in your life to be so very grateful for. And less to have to gripe about :) Lots of love to you all!!!
