Grandparents

We were so lucky to be able to have help for 2 weeks following baby Jane's birth. My mom was here for a week (and my dad for the weekend). Then the day my mom left, Ryan's mom flew into town for another week. It was amazing to have so much help. Can't thank you all enough for the service you gave to our family. And thank you to Kristin and Mike for giving us Pam for a week! And now, for some pictures. . .
Grandma & Grandpa Havens with the kiddos.
Another size comparison. SO FUN! This sheepy rug was a very nice gift from some friends, and Crew is slightly obsessed with it. Thanks Billy & Shannon :)
She was so alert. . . and yes, those are Crew's hands going right for her head.
Grandma Pam.
And for all those who were dying to know, this is where Ryan got his sparkly eyes.

Una Semana

She is one week old today, and here are some pictures from this week. Several were taken before we left the hospital. We came home on Monday afternoon. My Mom has been in town since then, and my Dad got to come last night to stay for the weekend.Crew got some new tools. He looks pretty awesome in the hard hat and goggles.
Some perspective on size. Crew is so huge compared to little Jane. He is a little man.
Crew gets more interested in his baby sister every day. Its so cute when he comes over to give her a hug randomly.

Baby Jane

Jane Elizabeth was born on Nov 6th at 2:14 pm. She was 2 weeks and 1 day early, weighed 6lbs 12 oz (the exact same as Crew, who was born exactly 2 weeks early), 19.5 inches long and 13 inches head circumference. She was very timely in her arrival. . . Thursday we got gas, heat, an oven & stove and all of the above finally in the home, Friday Katie threw me a baby shower in the evening, and contractions started at 3:00am Saturday morning. She was also careful to make sure she didn't come the day before Ryan's mega exam week, which was her due date. I know Ryan is very grateful for that.

I thought she looked different than Crew until I looked at these pictures. I can think of some really similar ones from when Crew was born. She has a different nose than Crew, and a dimple chin. All the nurses have commented on her dimple chin - which neither Ryan nor I have. Her hair is a lot like Crew's was.
Crew's visit was short and sweet on day 1 - he came right in time for some french fries :) He just got to see her in the nursery, but we look forward to seeing him again today and introducing him to his baby sister. Thanks to Katie and Josh for taking good care of him.

Halloween

Crew was Peter pan for Halloween. Though most people thought he was Robin Hood. We think he looked like a little elf. The only way we could tell what he was really supposed to be was due to the peter pan emblem on the costume. We inherited the costume from a friend, I added the belt, felt knife, and leggings, and he was all set. He looked pretty cute.
We headed off to the ward Halloween party, and a few minutes before we left, we decided to dress up as well. I just taped a pumpkin outline to my belly, and Ryan went as a hunter. Scott went dressed as a really cool guy :)
We had fun having Scott stay with us for the weekend. The boys went fishing on Saturday morning and both caught the biggest fish they have ever caught before. They brought home lots of fish, and we grilled some up right away and had it for a late lunch. It was really delicious!

Due to Popular Demand

And now, the moment you have all been waiting for. I present to you, our new place of dwelling. For anyone who doesn't know, Katie & Josh bought this house in June, and have been renovating it. We will rent the bottom 2 floors from them, and they will be in the upper 2 floors. We are moved in and for the most part, have things put away. They will be moving in soon. . . but are still finishing parts of the upstairs. As we speak, they are working on a fence, among other things. You'll see. . .
Our Kitchen. . . Katie shopped around on Craigslist and found the cabinets. Josh did the handiwork of piecing them all in just right. Its beautiful. To the left is the hallway where you walk in the door and the bathroom is off that hallway as well. The lovely laminate flooring was installed by my dad, my sister and myself.
On the other side of the kitchen, the dining room. I haven't done any decorating to the walls yet. But I have big plans. I'm working on some things :) You can see to the right is the living room.
Living room showcasing our lovely window and Ryan's new treasure :) Don't mind the plaster on the wall. We have to touch up the paint in a couple places. This is the best way our couches fit.
Bathroom. Lovely tile job done by my father with the help of my sister.
Katie found this old vanity and painted it white for us. Looks great.
And now, heading downstairs. . . The room straight ahead is our bedroom. New baby has a little room that is attached to ours. It is not included in the pictures because it currently houses just "stuff" that we either need to move or get rid of. Crew's bedroom is off to the right.
Our bedroom - view 1.
Our bedroom - view from the doorway. Just to the right of the closet is where you enter new baby's room.
Crew's room - view 1.
Crew's room - view 2.Shared laundry room and pantry. Aren't they beautiful?! Brand new washer and dryer. Can't wait to use those babies.
This is the door to enter our apt on the left. They are building a deck off of their dining room.
Another view of the back yard. It will be really great.
And that's that. Its beautiful, and things are coming along very nicely.

Pumpkin Picking

We took a trip to the pumpkin patch, which Crew thoroughly enjoyed. He loved pulling the wagon, and being set free in the field.
Debating with Jackie over which pumpkin would look best.
Stopped to drive the tractor on the way back.
Crew insisted on helping pull the wagon the entire time :)
