Albus and Minerva for Grownups

According to J. K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, Albus Dumbledore is around one-hundred fifty years of age, while Minerva McGonagall is approximately seventy. For some reason, fanfiction romances centered around this couple have attracted an extremely large number of very young people. While it is wonderful to see youngsters embracing an older couple so enthusiastically, most of what they write has these seasoned professionals behaving like sheltered teenagers. Sometimes these young writers even have the temerity to tamper with what Ms. Rowling intended by changing the eighty-year age gap separating the couple. Moreover, while these young writers read and review one another's stories most enthusiastically, those of us who are older, and write from a more experienced point of view, are frequently taken to task by these same youngsters for such things as depicting the couple as sexually experienced rather than virginal, or having them enjoy sexual relations before marriage - that is, if they bother to review us at all.

This community was created to provide a safe, supportive haven for any adult AD/MM writer who wishes to explore the relationship between these two characters in a canonically plausible manner. If you are tired of seeing poorly written, grammatically dubious, and childishly plotted stories receive hundreds of reviews, while your well written, grammatically correct, and realistically plotted stories are vilified at worst or ignored at best, this is the place for you. If you are tired of being told that since Albus was born in 1845, he must have Victorian values, and that Minerva only fared marginally better under King George V, (as if the Wizarding world automatically takes on the social mores of Muggles of the same era), this is the place for you. If you long to see more realistic Albus/Minerva romances penned by writers who have more experience with and/or tolerance for a broader range of subject matter, this is the place for you. This is also the place for you to share any of your artwork inspired by Albus and Minerva.
