What are your favorite online AlternaStyle places to shop?

I used to know tons, but forgot. :( This question popped into my head whilst I was looking at these AWESOME boots on Zappos.com.

This is my first content-related post in alternastyle.

I found the following fashion editorials in fakingfashion and foto_decadent, and while I am not head over heels in love with all of them, I do like them quite a bit (a lot) and appreciate the alternative aspects of the styling.

Alert: Am I the only one who has noticed the current loose, ripped fishnet trend? It's steadily growing more and more popular. I don't mean the regular ripped stockings and fishnets.. these fishnets look like ACTUAL fish-nets. And they are usually pretty loose.

Welcome to alternastyle. This is a community whose purpose is solely to embrace and appreciate alternative fashion, style and art.

I decided to create alternastyle long after I had already been a member of a couple of other fashion/style communities. One thing I noticed about said communities is that the vast majority of the members didn't appreciate any kind of alternative fashion, let alone embrace it. In fact, from what I have experienced, many of them hated it.

In other words, any kind of style that hadn't been seen hanging on the back of most people at any given time, wasn't and isn't considered stylish or fashionable.

Piercings were and are shunned because they "cover up someone's natural beauty", when in fact piercings aren't a cover up of beauty, they are an add-on! Same thing goes for tattoos or hair that isn't a natural-looking color.

On a more personal level, I was chastised about my platform Demonia boots. But why? Was it because they really are "hideous" and/or "monsterous"? Was it because they didn't portray style of any kind? No, it's because those boots weren't show-cased at Fashion Week, therefore they aren't stylish or attractive.

I believe that style should be embraced all across the spectrum, and not just in the one chunk that is so popular right now.
