aliatard: facial acne

i have shit insurance, a shit doctor, a shit derm, etc. i have just about every topical, though- OTC and prescription. i was getting some nasty bacne for a minute, but that's going away now, but now my face is looking to' up. i'm thinking it's hormonal, as i just started a birth control pill again, loestrin 24 fe, 3 days ago (coincidentally, to clear up my back). i've taken aviane/aleese before and it helped my skin, but i seemed to gain weight on it, so i'm stuck.

anyone have any experience with these aforementioned BCs? anyone swear by a BC that keeps you clear and doesn't make you gain crazy weight? should i try ortho? i can't afford yaz.

i do take vitex/chasteberry, an herb used to regulate hormones which i dunno if it's helping.

also, the doc gave me some antibiotics for my skin (doxycycline) and i threw up this morning after i took 'em. i'll try again tomorrow with food, even though it's supposed to be taken on any empty stomach, and even though I HATE TAKING ANTIBIOTICS AS I AM PRETTY MUCH A NATURAL MEDICINE GIRL AND KNOW HOW BAD THEY ARE FOR YOU IN THE LONG RUN.

one more thing, my skin is pretty dry lately (i've stopped tanning since december, i moisturize like a fiend, take omegas, drink at least 8 BOTTLES of water daily, and i use a humidifer), but it's still dry. and no, it's not eczema. i got rid of that by doing cleanses.

any input (birth control shout outs, supplement suggestions, etc) would be appreciated soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

aliatard: bacne. i think it's hormonal. i want to kill it.

My face isn't that bad, but it's definitely worse than usual. THAT, I can handle.

It's my back...horrible. Acne on my upper back, lower back, and even my shoulders. Some of it is cystic.

I've tried nearly every topical and wash-both 'script and drug/dept. store. I've even tried the Head and Shoulders method. I have the benz peroxide stuff, the retin a, the sulfur stuff, the salicylic acid, the aha, the tea tree oil, you name it. I even tried cortaid. I'm taking stuff to help regulate my hormones as they're wacky (vitex/chasteberry, saw palmetto, an adrenal-loving mix of herbs), and I'm taking every other vitamin and mineral I can think of that helps acne (b5, zinc...all the mandatory stuff that we need anyway). The only thing I'm not doing is taking birth control, because most make me gain too much weight (plus, my insurance is shhhht, so I can only afford a few kinds), and I don't like the idea of antibiotics or Accutane, as I like to try the more natural stuff first.

Also, I've even gotten colonics, started to clean up my diet, done water fasts, etc.

Anyone cure their bacne jere? If so, HOW!?!?!?!

Thanks. :)

aliatard: cleansing for the skin

For anyone with general health/beauty problems, I subscribe to the whole "your colon and the rest of your organs need to be clean" hype. I even bought the Dual Action Cleanse for 40 or 50 bucks at CVS (the one that has a stupid infomercial on tv every single night at like 3am). That was one of the many cleansing methods I tried, but I always go back to this two-part cleanse made by Nature's Secret:

http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Secret-Detoxification-Cleansing-120-Count/dp/B0000533I2/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_ex

I usually buy it at Whole Foods for 27 bucks, but evidenced by that link, I guess you can get it online for even cheaper. Anyway, those two bottles not only keep me "regular" (sorry!), which contributes to better skin, less bloat, more hotness, etc., but they're just good for your health in general. I have more energy when I take them consistently, and I feel like I absorb vitamins and minerals better 'cus I'm all cleaned out and stuff (again, sorry!). I swear, when I took this cleanse consistently for 3 months, my skin was glowing and I'd lost a few lbs- all due to being "regular", and having some pristine organs!

Obviously, like any other supplements, you should talk to your doc first. I'm an herb enthusiast, so I did see a Naturopath as well as a regular doc, and these have had no bad effects on me. One bottle containts herbs that help clean your colon out regularly without the risky/yucky side effects of laxatives, and the other bottle contains herbs that keep your liver and other organs clean and functioning.

2. Next, although the cleanse helps, I took it for granted, and took a two month break from it out of laziness, and being head over heels in love/drama. And now I'm breaking out all over my back and chest. I've tried nearly EVERY topical (which helped minimally). But I also started my cleanse again, and am taking a sh/tload of supplements (all my multis, zinc, b5, some hebrs for hormone regulation since the pill doesn't like me), and although It's improving, i'm still breaking out because when you clean yourself out from the inside, it takes a month to show on the outside sometimes. On top of that, My skin is uber dry from winter and or/stress, so I'm using zinc oxide, desitin baby rash stuff, calendula ointment, and a humidifer. Oh, and fish oil, flaxseed oil, and lots of h20 too. Any other suggestions to speed up the process, dry skinned girls with bacne?

3. FINALLY, for sale. Unopened BRAND NEW Retin- A Micro .04%. I've been using this for years (for acne- although, it's good for wrinkles and general skin health and really HAS helped scarring on my face tremendously), but recently wanted to give my skin a break since it's so dry from the winter, and I have an abundance of Retin- A stashed already. So if anyone is interested in buying it for $25 (this includes s&h costs), let me know! I'm pretty sure this stuff usually runs around $45-$50. This, without a doubt, helped my acne, but even more (since I help to prevent acne with cleanses) made my scarring so much better.

THANKS gals and boys.

If you have all the re9 products, including the lift, in what order are you supposed to use them? this is what i have been doing, but i wonder if i am using the lift in the wrong place.

Day:
cleanser
toner
lift
serum
day cream

Night:
cleanser
toner
serum
eye cream
night cream

i also have the mask, but i know that's not part of the daily routine. i use it once a week right after the cleanser

Hello, everyone!

I'm not a consultant, but I'm looking into becoming one.  I have a few questions, though -

I know *no one* that sells Arbonne in my area.  Help?

I've never tried the products (I'm very much a minmalist in the area of makeup/etc) but I'm looking into supplemental income, and Arbonne seemed like a good thing!  Their products are not tested on animals, vegan friendly - things that are a must for me to really get into a product.

I have another full time job and my partner is a SAHM to our 4 1/2 month old daughter.....money is limited right now, so what is the start up cost to begin with Arbonne?  Is it like Mary Kay (a coworker sells it and even though she's been  trying to get me into sellign that I just *can't* ) where  you have to invest a lot of money to be succesful at it?

I'm a hippie, lol...dreadlocked, very laid back and like I said - a minmalist.  Am I going to have a hard time finding clients?

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi, I'm Kim.
My mom's coworker recently had picked up some Arbonne products for body care, and she fell in love. My mom told her about my trouble skin on my face and her coworker gave me a bit of products for the body to decide if I should try Arbonne or not. I couldn't tell when I first tried, but after a while of using some on my legs I'm impressed because the redness on my legs has disappeared some.

This isn't quite the point though, by sheer luck mom and I went to some art sale and there was an Arbonne consultant there, we chatted with her for a while and she said she'd send samples to our house right away for free. We tried and loved it, so we ordered an acne skin care product line for me, and the age line for mom. The consultant told me to give it at least 4 weeks and I should notice a difference. The first few days I used these products I noticed a MAJOR diminish in redness and whiteheads forming around my cheeks. Some had simply gone away, never to be seen again. Now, 4 weeks later and around my birthday, I have severe redness and a couple more forming not just on my cheeks, but on my chin and forehead and I am deterred and depressed. The battle never seems to end and I just thought I'd ask for some insight. Just anything to keep me going with this. I know it always gets worse before it gets better, but I'm so close to just calling it a quits and seeing a dermatologist.

How long do you honestly suggest I wait? Just give me any advice, anything, because I've hit the breaking point. I have to say that out of all the products I've used, though, Arbonne impressed me the most in the beginning. I hope it will continue to impress me.

agraciado: registration code

Is there any way anyone can give me a online registration code so I can sign up online to become a consultant? I heard about Arbonne online when searching for more natural skin care products and decided to try my hand at selling it because I've never heard of anyone around here selling it. Since I don't know anyone who is a consultant, I have no one to give me a code.

My email is xjackie83@yahoo.com or you can reply here. Thanks!
