You just don't get it

If I post artwork to Deviant Art .com

do they OWN it? Or have the right to sell prints (automatically)?

Or do I have to specifically ask/permit them to make prints available?

My friend wants to display his paintings etc online, I suggested he post pics of them on Deviant Art.. but was hesitant when he read the terms and conditons

are we wrong in being paranoid?

what IS the best place to show off some art online?

I saw online and ad from the spike and mike animation fest that they were seeking submissions for their fest

I emailed them a 10 second joke cartoon I did. I get an email back saying “ we like it, we’re gonna use it in our fest!” I was so excited! I wrote them back “For real? My cartoon is in Spike and Mike?!?!” They emailed back “yes its in.”
