Off to Supanova Melbourne!

The tonsils the size of Texas are coming out on Friday. Some people enjoy long weekends lazing around the house; me, I have two nights in hospital and ten days off work.

I'm not looking forward to pain, but I will try for a picture if it looks gory enough :)

In other news, Wil Anderson was amusing tonight at the Spiegeltent, with heaps of people out in the Garden of Unearthly Delights on a balmy Wednesday night. That's my fourth Fringe show so far, one more to go unless I pick up any more tickets.

I've finally stopped dithering about whether to go to Supanova in April. Of course, if they'd do Adelaide along with apparently every other mainland capital it wouldn't have been a hard decision, but apparently Adelaide is only fit for church-goers, bogans and serial-killers.

Naturally being the closet fan that I am, I'm talking about it at work as going to Melbourne for a quick shopping expedition (which it is, too). There should be a good six hours shopping in there which is about as much as I can cope with. But I can't pass up an opportunity to see Gareth David-Lloyd, James Marsters and experience the Australian fannish community possibly at its best and maybe worst.

Anybody been to one of these before? Hints, tips, offers to catch up with a lonely Adelaidean?

Happy Australia everyone. Say no to internet censorship, regardless of which party is proposing this bullshit. It was stupid idea when Alston first brought it up, and it's even stupider now that Labour is trying to make it law.

Auctions for the two authors I was bidding on at help_haiti have closed and I'm lucky enough to have secured the services of both nancybrown and amand_r. Both are masters of the AU threesome fic but I've given them a couple of prompts each, and can't wait to see what they come up with.

The pressies for me will be better than Christmas, and I get the added benefit of donating the Doctors without Borders to help the relief efforts in Haiti. Oh and knowing there's one less Harry Potter mpreg story in the world :)

I have tonsils the size of Texas, again, and will shortly have a date with an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist. The glee with which the doctor said 'they're huuuge!' was slightly disconcerting, but I shall not judge him :)

Anyone care to share horror stories of tonsilectomies? I realise most people have them out well before their 40s.
