The joystick controller is the primary controller of the Atari 2600. It consists of a large analog stick that can be moved in 4 directions, as well as a single small red button (often called the Action Trigger) to accept input.
Due to the popularity of the Atari 2600 overall, the joystick controller has become an icon of popular culture and is generally associated with the retro gamer movement.
