:: OVERVIEW ::

Welcome to beatlestills! Basically, those who follow and believe in the "stillness" trend feel that animated icons receive far too much credit in animation-allowed icontest communities. I, being your moderator getwicked, of course believe in this trend and so took it upon myself to create a stillness community for my most favourite band, The Beatles!

Each week I will either post an image or a base for you to work with. Sometimes I will add to the challenge by restricting you to certain lyrics, colours, or words -- though, most of my challenges thus far have been completely free to creativity.

Each Friday, after I've collected submissions, I will make a post where through commenting you will vote for your top three favourites. By Monday the results should be posted and banners awarded.


:: RULES ::

(1) There can be no animation in your icons! Again, this is a stillness-only community.
(2) You must be a member to this community to participate.
(3) Post your icon in a comment to the entry that contains the challenge.
(4) You can submit only one icon per challenge unless otherwise noted.
(5) Your submissions must remain anonymous. This means you cannot use your icon or post it anywhere until the voting period is over. All comments will be screened for this purpose.
(6) If you are given a specific image to use for a challenge, you must use only that specific image.
(7) Brushes and borders are allowed.
(8) All icons must meet Livejournal requirements (100x100 max).
(9) Please don't take any of the contest icons without the creator's permission. (Icon makers: if you see someone using one of your contest icons without permission, please contact me and I will take care of the situation!)
(10) If you plan to distribute your icon(s) after the contest(s) is(are) over or plan to use any of our bases for icons - please credit beatle_stills. It's only fair if I've capped the bases for this community. Please read our "Bases and Images" section for more details.


:: VOTING ::

(1) Vote for your top 3 icons.
(2) If the post asks you for an additional vote for base, PLEASE include one.
(3) You may not vote for yourself if you've entered and you may not ask for votes elsewhere.
(4) Do not vote more than once.
(5) Anonymous votes will not be counted.


:: SUBMITTING ::

You will need a host that allows remote linking. Geocities/Angelfire/Tripod won't work. However, Photobucket is a decent free image host that allows remote linking. Many icon makers use it. When posting your submission (to the entry that contains the challenge), please include the img src and url versions like this:

:: BASES AND IMAGES ::

Most of the bases and images used for beatle_stills's challenges are capped by me (getwicked). I will mention if they are at the beginning of each challenge. Please do not redistribute or direct link any of my images. After a challenge, if you decide to distribute or use your icon contest entry, please credit beatle_stills or getwicked for the base.


:: TIMELINE ::

Sunday: New challenge emerges, winners are announced, and banners distributed.
Monday-Friday: The challenge goes on. All entries must be in by 8:00 (eastern time) on Friday night.
Friday-Sunday: Voting. End time: 6:00 Sunday evening.
