Welcome to bisketchual, a community for Harry Potter "wrarters": fans who straddle the fandom divide between fanfic writers and fanartists by brazenly making fools of ourselves both ways! Anyone who has 'published' both art and fic in the Harry Potter universe is welcome here.
We will primarily be a discussion forum, centering on the unique topics brought about by playing both sides, but art and fic are both welcome here as well. That said, we ask that you please only post your stories/art here if it is relevant to the topic at hand. Having a hard time illustrating a particular moment? Think that you managed to perfectly convey a particular scene? Fic screaming for a picture but you're just not sure what? Picture screaming uselessly for fic against your stubborn writer's block? Want a second opinion on either? Great. Just use the appropriate headers and warnings...we all know what they are.
Also, this should go without saying, but saying it nonetheless: feel free to discuss your work and the fandom, of course, but this is not the place to advertise your fic, your art, that you are taking commissions, your new community, archive, awards, or RPG.
This community is open to all characters, kinks, squicks, and pairings, as long as it's Harry Potter related. If you do not label and warn appropriately, however, you will be kicked off after the second time. Anyone can mess up, we're not ogres here, but nor do some of us appreciate stumbling upon your Umbridge/Filch/Dudley NC-17 watersports pic in full color at work, thankyouverymuch. Flaming of others (including ranting about specific individuals whether or not they are members of this community) will likewise not be tolerated, and THAT one is out on one. Concrit is welcome and expected and please say so if you don't want it, otherwise we will assume you do. Also, ljcut is your friend. Please use it.
Beyond that, the only other thing you should be aware of is that we are continually holding a fic and art exchange. This isn't a formal thing like Weasleyfest, but rather an informal chance for us to have some fun with fellow wrarters. If you want to participate, you may post a sketch or story with the subject line "USERNAME Exchange Art" or "USERNAME Exchange Story." The sketches become challenges for other people to write fic for (post in comments or as "USERNAME Exchange Response"). The stories become challenges for other people to draw for. The catch? If you post a story, you agree to draw for two other people. If you post a sketch, you agree to write for two other people.
