Town Center Borderpagans -- Changes [Nov. 19th, 2008|02:01 pm]

I'd like to announce a major change at the Town Center Borderpagans group.

After 8 wonderful years, it's time for this bear to take a break. I am going on sabbatical. I have asked justben to take the reins for a while and in his ever ebulient way, jumped at the chance.

I'll still be around and may even take the chair now and then. I'll let Ben make a post about his plans and upcoming topics.

Scott - The Moderator on Sabbatical.

NO Town Center Borderpagans Tonight! [Dec. 31st, 2007|04:13 pm]

I'm not sure why the post I made a couple of days ago didn't go out, but here it goes again.

Because it's New Year's Eve, there will NOT be a Town Center Borderpagans meeting tonight.

If you want to come by Dreamland (my loft) and hang out and ring in the new years with rum and cigars at my place and old school arcade and pinballs across the hall at my friend Brian's Arcade Loft, come on by.

Call me for the address and such.

I just found this NPR interview that I think you will enjoy. Margot Adler and Kandace Kant talk for about 40 minutes about paganism. The link to the audio is in the third paragraph.

Hi all.

I found this group, though I cannot remember how. I think that during the time I lived in Atlanta (Oct 2004 - Jan 2006) I managed to make it to a FEW BP meetings, but never found myself having the time to make them regularly. Quelle dommage. :(

I'm back in Massachusetts, where I'd come from, but still wanted to stay in touch, even if through the occasional posting, or what have you.

I've heard much about this community from zen_sakka who is a memeber.

I'm a 3rd degree ordained Wiccan High Priestess of the Coven of the Whisperin Oak. I also read Tarot, am learning Runes (slowly) and am studying Celtic Shamanism. I hope to be able to make a meeting very soon.

Blessed Be,

Lady Crystala, HPS

Taxpayer-funded Bible Courses in GA Public School [Jan. 12th, 2007|10:37 pm]

From the Board of Education meeting minutes:

CI - Georgia Performance Standards for the Literature and History of the Old Testament Era and the Literature and History of the New Testament Era

Rationale:

Last year the General Assembly enacted legislation requiring the State Board of Education to provide for the offering of state-funded, elective high school courses in History and Literature of the Old Testament Era and the History and Literature of the New Testament Era. The law also required that the Board act on this legislation no later than February 1, 2007.

How did this get through the General Assembly without some serious press?

Back up. How did this get through the General Assembly?

Senate Bill 79

EDIT: Class Description from the Performance StandardsCollapse )

Rune talk [Jan. 4th, 2007|09:10 am]

Since Deb has asked me to talk about runes in two weeks, I'd thought I'd find out what people are interested in hearing about.  So here's your chance to make it interesting, otherwise I can promise you that it will be boring and dull.
