Bi Poly Pagan Gamer Geeks Who Have Children

I found the community through bipolypagangeek's profile and figured gee, sounds exactly like my kind of community, too, since I have kids. I live in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. I'm female, mother of two daughters (ages 11 and 2.5). I'm 35, female, bi, poly, pagan, gamer (RPG/card/board, at least when I have time to be), sci-fi/fantasy/costuming/SCA/crafts/science/math geek, and while not kink, I'm kink-friendly. My name is Emily. Most folks call me Em. Jacylrin is my default net handle, and has been since 1993. I'm married to a straight poly atheist male geek. I also have bipolar (not severe, and pretty well controlled), rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, fibromyalgia, IBS-D, etc.

Wow, not only did I just find the other BPPGG group, but then I find out there's one where people with kids can post? How exciting!

I am Pansexual, came out as Bi when I was in my early 20's, realized it was more Pan as I got older. I am the moderator for our local Bi group, Bi Utah. Pride is this Sunday and we are marching in the parade, yaaay!
I am Poly, live in a house that we all bought together w/ my husband and another couple, raising all our kids, and have a girlfriend on the side. Also am a moderator for our local Poly group, Utah Polyamory Society, we will have a booth this year @ Pride, our 15th year! Yaaay for that too!
I am jack Pagan (I live in Utah so that might make no sense to you if you don't), not affiliated w/ a church here or coven because I don't feel like I quite fit into those communities here, mostly we practice rituals @ home.
I am Kinky, have been into BDSM for 15ish years, not heavily, I'm in the local BDSM google group, but don't generally attend play parties, just kind of keep up w/ the community and practice my arts @ home.
I am a Geek (feel nekkid w/out my laptop, can build computers and servers, in crushy love w/ Wil Wheaton, is that enough?)
I am somewhat of a Gamer (I do play some games online, but not WoW type, I love board games, but since I have a 2 year old, don't get to play them as often as I like, in the past I have been severely addicted to Sims, Minesweeper, Solitare, Puzzle games. I do love Nintendo, loved the first one, love my Wii, play Mario whenever I can, okay, I guess I am a bit of a Gamer, just not the MMPORG kind).

So, there you go, a little bit about me. In other ways: I'm a grant writer by trade. I love to read, mostly read fantasy and sci fi. We are planting a garden this year and are excited about not paying so much for veggies. We're trying to get off the grid as much as possible, but that isn't going so well because we loves our material things, like computers and power and swamp cooler and all. Um, lessee, we do attachment parenting which for us includes co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding, babywearing, all that stuff. Um, I guess that's all I can think of for now.

I'm excited to actually see that there are a bunch of people like me out there! Woo!

I have deleted my previous posts regarding my potential research. I will consider all advice I received, regroup, plan better and (hopefully) try again at a later time. Thank you for all your help so far. Perhaps this will turn into something which can be useful to myself and others when I am more prepared.

My bratlings say the funniest./oddest things sometimes...

Yesterday, bratling #1 and I were IMing over skype, (she was on Bunny's computer in the other room,) and I don't remember why it came up, but she said, "What? Yaoi is the best most awesomest thing EVER!"

Then tonight, as she's reading manga next to me, I stretched out my leg, which caused my foot to touch her hip. This promptly resulted in a squeal of "Feeeeeeeet! Feeeeeeeeet!" which left me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.

This may be kind of off topic but this is probably the best community I could come to about this. I would really like to go into therapy just to work through, you know, the issues we all have but the ones I'm not comfortable talking to just anyone about. :P The problem is that I have to find one who is understanding of my sexuality and parenting philosophy. Being bisexual, an attachment parent who cosleeps and extended breastfeeds and will tandem nurse with this next child in mah bellies, etc. are all issues that make me get a little anxious about bringing up to someone who might judge me. Which then will hinder any progress I might make in a therapy situation. I've never really had to do this before so I'm not sure where to start. Any suggestions?

I want to thank everyone who helped out last night with your good wishes, vibes, and prayers! By this morning the little girls temp dropped dramatically to 99* form 103*! My Mistress said the coven felt a surge of positive energy and healing at midnight EST. but it continued all night long. I also want to apologize for any arguments I started for not giving all the information properly. I may be a Wiccan by choice, but I know the best medical care is done at a hospital where an emergency can be handled should it arise. I didn't mean to mislead anyone otherwise. Please forgive me and go back to being friends. Thanks to all of you again....we did it!

I need the help of every Pagan out there. My Mistresses Step-daughter has been diagnosed with The Swine Flu! She has a high fever and is having trouble breathing. My Mistresses coven is doing a gathering for a massive healing and is asking for anyone and everyone to help. This is taking place at 2330 EST, but anyone who gets this later you voice is still wanted and needed.

i also have hear a recipe for a healing satchel. If you can make it and hold it while you ask your God or Goddess for help it will make the request that much more powerful.

Most people would be surprised to find out my Son C4 has known about sex since he was eight yrs old. The fact is he walked in on his Father, our girlfriend, and I in a compromising position. His father didn't think it was a big deal, but mitsuki_chi and I freaked! The next day when his Dad still hadn't talked about it I decided to take manners into my own hands. I took him to Friendlys, which I figured was a neutral environment and asked for a corner booth for privacy. There over ice cream we talked about everything he saw and I answered questions. I could tell he was embarrassed, but he was honest with me. I spoke about being Bi, BDSM, sharing partners safely, and basic sex. He said he understood some of it, but he was too young to comprehend a few things. I said we would have another talk when he is older. We finished our ice cream and that was the end of it.

Lately I have been reading in the paper, magazines, and the news that kids his age are getting in trouble for sex texting or sexting. I asked him to sit down with me while I folded clothes and had talk. At first he rolled his eyes, but then he realized this wasn't a bird and the bees talk. I talked to him about how sexting was illegal as well as receiving pictures of anyone under 18 and is considered child pornography. I said even if your girlfriend send you a pic of her in her underwear and bra it is still child pornography in the eyes of the law. He was surprised, but he understood the danger. We talked about oral sex and how you can get STD's from it and a few other things he was surprised to hear about. I asked if he had any questions and he said no. I thanked him for his time and for truly listening to me and not blocking me out. I think the only lie he said was that he was not sexually active with himself. That's hard to believe he's 14 and I know his fathers porn collection is readily available. I hope I did the right thing today. I want to post this on my own LJ, but I wanted a few opinions of my friends here first. Did I do the right thing or did I over step boundaries? Thanks!
