THE BIGGEST NAMES IN HORROR FILMS JOIN FORCES FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR SHOWTIME'S SHOCKING NEW ANTHOLOGY SERIES "MASTERS OF HORROR"
Showtime Networks has joined with IDT Entertainment's New Arc Entertainment, Industry Entertainment and Nice Guy Productions to present a shockingly entertaining new anthology series entitled Masters of Horror. For the first time, the most prominent directors of the horror film genre have joined forces to produce a series of new original horror films that promises to shock, terrify and captivate even the most discriminating horror film fans.
Masters of Horror grew out of an informal bi-monthly dinner attended by many of the horror genre's most highly regarded directors. Mick Garris transformed their collective desire to work together into reality, and will serve as the series Showrunner.
"Showtime is thrilled to be working with this roster of filmmakers, all of whom have contributed significantly to the horror and suspense genre. The title is truly appropriate since Mick Garris and his fellow directors simply are the "masters of horror," said Robert Greenblatt, Showtime's President of Entertainment. "It's hard to really scare the audience these days, but I guarantee that these guys will really do just that."

hi! i'm crangirl. I'm an online friend of toyman. Just wanted to post about the up an coming movie Serenity, also known as Firefly. If you are into space, action, western themes.... then this movie is for you. Before they made it into a movie, it aired on telivision for one season. i'm not sure if this is the best price for it, but if everyone can afford it, get the DVD set first. Have a marathon with fiends... then go watch it! |

okay, so the titan tv listings aren't showing episode titles, so tonight's "sunday night black and white"on ch23 is sort of a crapshoot. sorry.
uhm, if you're not watching anything else, think about checking this crap out:
The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh 08/07/2005 11:00 PM, 2 hrs - ch26, wciu Pro athletes team with veteran actors in a spoof of basketball and astrology. Julius Erving, Jonathan Winters, Stockard Channing, Meadowlark Lemon, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Directed by Gilbert Moses. 11pm, ch26 - not of this earth
"Executive producer Roger Corman achieves the NOT OF THIS EARTH hat trick with this third version of his drive-in classic from 1958. Michael York tackles the role of the vampire alien on a quest for Earthling blood with creepy aplomb, while the gross-out factor profits from refurbished digital special effects."
(unfortunately, the "classic" on ch26 hasn't been listed on the wciu website yet.)
also, i should note that the sven's tv graveyard: batman episode is going to be rerun in august. according to rich/sven, this is due to "popular demand", so let's hope some more "tv graveyard" eps are coming up soon. |

It's very good. Better than I expected it to be but it's still overrated based on how the major critics and internet geeks are making it out to be. I like it because Romero creates a world that expands on what he did previously. Seems like only zombie movies today are about the start of the spread. So it's awesome on the scope of it. The best acted of all of them but I chaulk that up to finally casting actual actors instead of Pittsburgh buddies. |

from bloody-disgusting.com-
"With Universal's Land of the Dead (review) hitting theaters [this friday] with much anticipation, now's a great time for a little extra PR to get you psyched for the film. Everyone's favorite cat from Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg, was rumored to be in the film- and as a mater of fact he is. But he didn't make it out alive, nor did he die, which means he must be one of the undead!"

|
Thought I should post this for you fans of the genre in the Chicago area.
This Saturday, June 25th, the University of Illinois-Chicago is hosting a festival of one-acts. Earlier this year, Darknight Theatrical Productions sponsored a playwriting competition that brought in scripts from around the country. Submissions were to be in the vein of the classic Rod Serling TV series Night Gallery and Twilight Zone. Six scripts were chosen to be condensed into 15-minute acts, which will be performed on Saturday night.
The interesting thing about this festival is that all the actors will have only been given the scripts that morning to rehearse during the day and perform that night. The directors of each script have likewise never met the actors nor seen the script, and have to start by casting all the roles. It'll be a challenging day for the actors - which I happen to be one of - as well as an entertaining show for the audience.
So, if you want a change of pace from Svengoolie for a Saturday night, I invite you to come to 1044 W Harrison (UIC Theatre Building) at 8pm. Tickets are only $10 at the door, theater opens at 7:30. The audience will also vote on their favorite pieces at the end of the performances. Using the night's ticket revenue, the top three picks will then be performed in their entirety at the Majestic Miday this fall.
Don't miss this opportunity to see some raw, potentially edgy, live theatre - and to see me onstage, too. |

wow. check this out. it's a pretty long clip, and you're probably gonna need a broadband connection.
here's a synopsis: guy walks into a set up. he thinks he's playing a videogame, but he's actually being "hypnotized", for lack of a better term, then brought to a location that looks nearly identical to the environment in the game, and brought back around.
oh, did i mention that the "game" he thinks he's playing is a zombie survival shoot 'em up? yeah.
i doesn't even matter if this is legit or not, it's awesome in concept alone. |

This is a much better trailer than the one you can get now. It's gorier and you get a better sense of the story. Basicly, zombies learn how to shoot guns. So basicly running zombies are bad but zombies that think, use rudimentary skills and use emotion is this great achievement? Romero fanboys are just as bad as Star Wars fanboys. Can we just kill all fanboys? |

I recently joined this community. I came across it after adding "Phantasm" to my interests. This seems like a pretty cool place, I think I'll check in once in a while.
Real quick about me. I live in Glenview (15 min NW of Chicago). I am a big horror fan, scouring the most obscure titles I can find in the video stores. I will watch any movie involving zombies, especially. And I've only recently taken a liking to Christopher Lee; my plan now is to watch one of his films each week.
I am also an unabashed Svengoolie fan, hence the focus of him in this community is a nice lure for me. If I find myself with nothing going on Saturday night, I will always flip to 26 to see what treasure Sven is offering. Though I prefer Rich Koz's Three Stooges show, more often than not.
You can occasionally find me acting (or at least trying to) on stage both in and around Chicago as well. I am currently rehearsing for a show that opens June 23. If anyone wants more info, just ask. |
