Chop Socky Chooks

Chop Socky Chooks is a 26 episode animated 3D action series produced by Aardman Animations, WildBrain Studios (previously known as Decode Entertaintment) and Cartoon Network.[1]

The show ran on Cartoon Network's animation channel on March 7th, 2008, having a last official episode transmition on July 24th, 2009. The series consists of a single season of 26 episodes. A second season was planned but the idea was scrapped due to low ratings which led to a cut in funding.

The show was aired throughout the United Kingdom, United States and several other countries in the world. Teletoon in Canada, and ABC3 in Australia were part of this emission. The name comes from "Chop Socky" , a slang for Martial Arts of Asian origin films subgenre, specifically made betwteen the 1960's and early 1980's; "Chook", comes from an Australian and New Zealand naming slang for "Chicken". The naming structure was also confused by a racial slur with a similar pronounciation of the last word, wich caused some controversies, along with some characters accents and designs, however, the character designs were flexible, distinctive, and variable from the start, with most of these issues being fixed in recent editions, and staff members declaring intent to the contrary and far from casting mockery and slander on ethnic minorities.

Argument

A small but evil piranha called Wasabi, now rules a giant mall-like city: Wasabi World. Under his cruel commands and manipulation to the costumers and citizens, the city falls defenseless, but a trio of martial artists: Chick P (Works as an 1ºst class engineer at Wasabi World city installations, whose name fall under Chickadee Pao),K.O Joe (also known as JJ, having his own small comic store) and Chuckie Chan (secretly teaches the difficult art of "Pow Kung" to the city's youth, capable to dominate Chi energy and manifesting them trough green shiny spheres), unknown as "Charles Chan", three chickens whose forces joined together, shared a personal goal to follow and rise every day against Wasaby, Bubba, his minions and robots that rule the city. Is their mission as the "Chop Socky Chooks" to protect the city from his abuses, using different gadgets, techology and of course, their Martial Arts experiences.
