Hi guys! I'm new to this community :) nice to meet you all!

Sherlock Holmes Cosplay Photos (Test-Version)

Hello,

this is the first time I make a cosplay post in my journal, but maybe I'll do it more often, because here I can show you my favorite pics and not just every single one of them like on Animexx (and let's be honest, some of the pictures there are crap).

So for explanations and of course the pics, please klick

Title: Sherlock Holmes Test-Photoshoot
Cosplayer: kai_pon
Background: my own sitting room
Camera used: my old digicam (what I would give for a digital single lens reflex camera ;O;)
Props: Yorick (my skull), Jack the E-String Ripper (my violin), Union Jack Pillow and good old Reddie (the other pillow)... oh, and a cigarette XD
Clothes: skin tight black jeans, anthracite blazer (see below), black boots, purple dress shirt
Notes: I love the jeans and of course the 120€ purple shirt of sex. The boots I can live with, because I have very small feet and getting my hands on shoes that look like they were designed for men... well, it's not easy, so the boots will have to do, for now. What I most definitely hate, though, is the blazer, because standing up while wearing it, it just looks ridiculous. Every single seam screams "I'm made for women with hips" and being a woman with more narrow hips and one cosplaying a man... Like I said: ridiculous. I will exchange it for a nice anthracite jacket as soon as I can.
Hair and Make-Up: The two things I made this entire test for. First of all: I don't use a wig, because I already have shortish, dark and curly hair, I just have to use a bit more product and a styling iron. I'm surprised how well it works on photos, because in real life it looks a bit different.
For the makeup: I used a lot of skin coloured powder and dark brown eyeshadow to make my face look more angular and of course pale, but you can hardly see it except maybe the part around my eyes and nose. On top of that I used a tiny bit of mascara and eye liner, because of all the powder my eyes somehow vanished and I would have looked quite sick on the pics without it. For the lips I used a lipstick in my natural colour and put some more powder over it. I tried it with a lipstick for nude makeup, but it didn't work so well. This is also the only thing I'm entirely unsure about with this cosplay.
Poses: Generic. Just the usual violin plucking/ being bored/ thinking/ being irritated with Mycroft - poses. But for the first time not so bad, I think, and it would have been a bit more varied if I hadn't have to use the selftimer on the camera XD
Photoshop?: Yes. I edited the coloures and added a frame. I also played with the image sharpness, because I mainly want to use the pictures for user pics.
