The year is 1963.
It is a time in history like no other. There are those who feel that they are standing on the dawn of a golden age while others feel that the threat of nuclear war will tear the nation apart. The fire of the Civil Rights Movement is beginning to blaze with men and women standing up against oppression at home, as costumed superheroes and criminals begin to make their presence known.
Against this backdrop of conflict and change, a man named Charles Xavier is searching for others of his kind.
Xavier sees the turmoil ahead. He believes that a war against mutants may soon be coming--he sees it in the reaction of Americans to the threat of the bomb and the fear of mutation. His friend, Erik Lehnsherr, argues that violence should be met with violence, that mutants should strike first and enslave those who would harm them. But Xavier is not a man quick to anger and instead, he is preparing a sanctuary for those who would band together for protection. It is not children that he seeks but men and women--in case the battle is brought to their front door.
As movements march on and wars erupt, Xavier’s dream turns from fantasy to necessity. Where will it lead mutantkind? |

I thought people might be interested in this...
I didn't really get into my reasons as such, I used scans as evidence, but  awesome_women's recent theme was "Woman you'd take into a fight" and I chose Kitty Pryde. Who is, as always, awesome. The Cat is Back, Where's the Rejoicing?!
I can't believe no one has posted here about Kitty's return in the comics! What do you think of how it was done? Who else kinda tilted his or her head upon realizing Kitty's current state, at the end, and wondered if there wasn't a lovely older story-line with the solution to it...glaring all in the face? Current Kitty books: what does every think?
First off X-men Forever: What was up with that jump to the leather costume which they seemed to have on the cover for...2 issues running? without it showing up, then she just jumped to it. Did I miss something? Obviously from my above comment, I am quite uncertain about this book, but the next two storylines seem to be concerning kitty and pitor and then Kitty, Pitor and Illyana... So I'm gonna hang around. Also this most recent issue seems to have better art. How about the X-men Misfits manga? I was highly amused by it, just for amusing pseudo-harem/pseudo practically yaoi-ness of it. Kitty herself wasn't really anything like the Kitty Pryde in the Marvel Comics IMO, but I was still amused. Plus we get Kitty with cat ears sometimes so that's a yeah in my book. Oh! And she wears biking pads occasionally to protect her if she phases through the floor. I liked that idea and had not seen it in any of the "mainstream" Marvel books. Has Kitty show up in Ultimate Spider-man again? I rather liked her Ultimate character there, less in the Ultimate X-men stuff. Oh! And if anyone has not been watching Wolverine and the X-men; Kitty plays a supporting part there, but she's pretty kick-ass there. Kitty's Return--Looking Imminent!
What? Can it be this has not been mentioned here yet?! In Secret Invasion: Dark Reign #1, Emma begins to receive messages in her dreams--and she, at least, thinks they're from Kitty! Could it, oh, could it be? Anyone else read this? Anyone else plan to now follow this story line just to find out?  An X-Men Movieverse Forum RPG - Set after X-Men: The Last Stand
HOME | AVAILABLE CHARACTERS | RULESSeveral years have passed since the battle at Alcatraz, but tensions have remained bubbling from opposing forces in both the mutant and human forces. However, there has been no wide-spread conflict for a while, and many are hoping the peace will linger. Xavier's remains a place for mutants in need, young and old alike, while many mutants have also set up their own homes in the state of New York. This calm isn't going to be long-lasting, however, as there's news on the wind of a virus coming to American shores, a virus too fast and too deadly to be natural. And what's worse, is that its target is mutantkind.
Known as the Legacy Virus due to its specific genetic target; symptoms include headaches, fever and sickness, the signs akin to that as the common influenza. Europe is already suffering from the pandemic, and there are fears it could kill mutants all over the planet. The rumblings between the human and mutant divide are growing stronger in light of this virus. However, while mutants are the most susceptible, a few humans carry an undeveloped x-gene that makes them vulnerable to contracting the sickness. There is a 60% chance of death if the virus is contracted, while others may recover, or some with stronger immune systems are able to avoid the worst of the virus' symptoms. The length of time between first symptoms and possible death varies between individuals, depending on their health and immunity strength. There is currently no available cure, but scientists are working as fast as they can to try and combat the illness. Military organisations are preparing to police the streets to aid regulation, while the government is considering a series of systems and monitoring with the medical authorities to try and control the virus. Quarantines are currently on a small scale, but are preparing for the worse. The Mutant Registration Act is looming as the President prepares to declare a State of Emergency.

After the death of Charles Xavier, Revolve became the home for all mutants, whether they like it or not. Stripped of their rights, fitted with collars and powers suppressed until their matches, life on Revolve is difficult and rigid. Their days are spent training for fights, working at the island's amusement park or dreaming of some day earning the outrageous sum of money with which to buy their freedom.
What would you do? Would you play the game? Fight the system? Start a revolution? Plot your escape?
