The Dark Future

The year is 2358 A.D.

The world is a very dark place to be.

In August of 2215, the first nuclear weapon exploded in the Former Soviet Union. It was unclear where the bomb came from and in retaliation, one was dropped on every country. A bloody war ensued, and in 2233, when the war ended, the survivors were a lot harsher.

Technologies were rebuilt and governments disbanded.

Now three companies, Armtech (specializing in weapons), Microtech (specializing in technology), and Tanaka (specializing in cyber technology and weapons) control the world. They are not kind.

In 2298 the first of the Night City stalkers appeared. He killed 108 people before he was caught. The Night City mayor set up a special force to deal with cyberstalkers, the 39th Precinct of Police, called the Psycho Squad.

The second Night City Stalker appeared in 2343, killing intermittenly until he was killed in 2349. 3 of the Psycho Squad died to bring him down.

The third has now appeared.

One corp wants the stalker dead. One wants him alive. One doesn't care, just as long as his body is brought in.

5. AIM is not required for gameplay. Most gameplay will take place in journals and comment sections. Because of this, you MUST have a character journal just for this game.

How do I join?

• First choose the character you want. It can be any person, alive or dead. OC's will ONLY be accepted in very rare instances.
  
• Pick their character genre. This includes: Solo's (mercenaries, armed guards, assassins), Corps (lawyers and business people), Techs (those good with technology and cyber implementation), Medtechs (doctors, psychologists), Artists (DJ's, painters, musicians), Media (journalists and news casters), and Borgs (more than 50% non-human).
  
• Email all of this to the Mod. Also include if you need a lj code.
  
• Wait for her to ok you. Then create your journal.

Other information:

Most gameplay will take place in Night City which encompasses from Atlanta to New York City. As game play expands, other cities will be included.

Anything real is VERY rare. This includes real meat, earth, and vegetables. Most food is processed.

REAL animals are extremely rare. Most pets are made of cyber technology and covered with hair to create a sense of realism.

Nanotechnology has not yet been created.

ALL forms of transportation use vertical thrust. (Think the jet from X-men).

Most people use guns. Those that use swords generally use vibrobladed weapons which have very fine wire that vibrates to cut instead of a blade.
