~*Summary*~
Darkness Grows takes place during Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts (1996). Voldemort has gained power and the second war has begun. Harry must deal with school and the impending attacks. He fears for his friends and the members of the Order. Snape has been acting more suspicious and the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher seems too good to be true.
~*Backstory*~
Our story starts at the Order's headquarters (Gimmauld Place). The date is August 25. The kids have to get their supplies and Mrs. Weasley won't stop fussing over Fred and George's absence when such terrible things are happening now that Voldemort has returned. Because of the attack on the ministry, Fudge has finally accepted that Voldemort is back. Percy still isn't talking to his parents, and is strangely still skeptical about Voldemort's return. Harry has accepted Sirius' death though he is still grieving; Ron and Hermione help as much as they can. Rita Skeeter has been hired by The Quibbler and is back wrecking havoc...only now no one pays attention to her. And now I believe you are all up to speed. ~*Rules*~
1. Please keep all posts under R rating. I'd like this to be a RPG for all ages (though experienced RPGers are encouraged). If you insist on posting something higher than PG-13 rating, please do so under a cut.
2. You must be 13 to join.
3. Kindness isn't just a virtue. It's what keeps you in this group. Conflicts in character are a different story, especially if it's in character. Then it is encouraged! But please be nice to the other players and if you have a problem with them, contact a moderator.
4. You must make a post at least every two weeks. This includes commenting or posting a new entry. Even if it's OOC, you must post every two weeks. I cannot stress this enough. I'd like this to be active.
5. No Mary-Sues. Please. Spare me the pain of having to reject your Mary Sue and just don't apply. If you're going to mutilate a character's background that JKR gave them, then don't apply. As far as relationships go, slash is okay, if there is reason behind it. I mean, Harry wouldn't just one day, decide that he's deeply in love with Goyle. Make it reasonable and believeable. We try to stay as close to the canon as possible. Same with Het relationships, so don't think I'm discriminating against slashers.
6. RPing is to be done in the third person.
7. Excessive swearing is not allowed. They're frustrated teenagers, not angry sailors. They wouldn't swear every 5 words.
8. Posts must be lengthy. No one liners.
9. This is the most important rule of all...HAVE A GOOD TIME! Enjoy role playing your character. If you don't feel like you're having fun with this anymore, and you're falling behind in it, leave if you have to. Don't just abandon the community.
~*Opening Date*~
My aim for the opening of this RPG is August 1. If you can, tell your friends that might be interested. In the character list below, the ones in bold are the ones we will need by that date. If that isn't met, then it will have to be postponed. I can fill in for one or two characters, but not a whole bunch. Then I start losing the fun.

Ah yes. Those wonderful little pictures by our names. They identify us. So, whenever you post in this community, please use an actor/ress that resembles your character in canon. For example, you wouldn't have a girl with long, straight, blonde hair for Hermione. We'll compile a list of them so that if anyone has to take over, they know what to do.
