Definition of Demonolatry:

Demonolatry ("demon worship") is the spiritual practice of demon worship. Often, though not always, magick is employed to enhance the spiritual dimensions of worship. Demonolatry differs from Theistic Satanism -- the practitioner works closer with demons than with Satan, whereas Theistic Satanists focus their primary devotion to Satan. What is important to know is that Satan is invoked during demonolatry ceremonies; it is accepted that he will work with the demonolator. However, seeing that demons are 'closer' to our realms, it is believed that the demonolator can build an exceptionally strong link to demons. The demonolator chooses to work with demons and builds a communicative magickal relationship that evolves over time.

General Information:

Members are those interested parties or practitioners of demon worship. Please read the "About This Journal" (on the main page) description of what demonolatry is before applying for membership. You might not accept the above definition (or, the practice of demonolatry as stated above). If that is the case, you may want to research other communities -- perhaps join a theistic Satanic community, for example. What is important to remember is that Demonolatry is not a "catch-all" term for the Left-Hand Path and/or theistic Satanism; it does have methods to its madness. Just because you define Satan as a demon, and worship Him, demonolatry might not be the best manner to describe your belief system or method of worship.

24 Oct 04:

Demonolatry is a closed community. At this time, most memberships are granted by invitation only. However, you may contact the maintainers at nocturnalascension @ demonworship.org about becoming a member. Please do this before you apply for membership. Right now,"blind" requests for membership are ignored until the interested party contacts the community maintainers at the aforesaid address.

Our closed-community status may change in the future. However, there are no plans at this time to allow open membership. The main reason for this is because our focus is solely on demon worship as defined in our journal's "About this Community" area; we've recognized that many new students tend to confuse demonolatry with theistic Satanism. The two are quite different in the approach to working with demons; the majority of "demonolatry" on the web is in truth nothing more or less than theistic Satanism.
