baronvonbiron: help me i am drowning in a snowy hell

Okay, so I have a problem. I have HORRIBLE dandruff. As disgusting as this sounds, I get little bits of dead-skin build-up. I am going to assume this means my scalp (much like my hair) is crazy dry. I use T-Gel two or three times a week, minimize shampooing otherwise to encourage my scalp to do it's makin'-natural-oils-thing, oil my hair/scalp, use a mixture of olive oil and deep-conditioner on my hair once a week to moisturize...

You name it, I have tried it. T-Gel use to work really well - now, it only makes the problem, at best, marginally manageable. I'm going to try Apple Cider Vinegar to supposedly restore the pH of my scalp today.

Does anybody have any tips? Home remedies, magical shampoos/ointments/whatever, a bottle that contains a genie that grants all flakey-skin related wishes? This is driving me batty! :(

daz_meh: facial eczema

Hello folks!

Do you apply makeup over your eczema? If so, do you apply your cortisone first then the makeup or do you not wear both together?

What tips do you have?

I have eczema on my face (not due to makeup of course) and I feel like a monster when I go out

:o(

lizard_queen08: Unused creams and lotions for dry skin conditions for sale

Hi all, I have lots of creams and lotions for dry skin conditions, mainly dermatitis, eczema and rosecea. My brother has bought tons of stuff over the years only to find he's allergic to the chemicals in them! That said all these creams are unused, or tested once and well within their best before date. I'm hoping to sell them so he can get some of his money back and also so people can get these miracle lotions for a fair price.

Everything is half the recommended retail price, but please feel free to haggle if you don't like the price. Postage and packaging is not included but won't be much on top of the listed price.

Thanks for looking, and I hope this is acceptable... seems a shame to chuck all these and I don't want to use eBay!

I have postive feedback on eBay under the name lizard_queen08 :)

cute_kitty: Itchy scalp - HELP

Hi, I'm fairly new here. I joined because I have had an itchy scalp for five years, and I'm at the end of my rope because nothing I've tried works. I've tried medicated shampoos, natural shampoos, cortade, scalpicin, psoriasin (a stronger version of scalpicin), regular creams, anti-fungal stuff, anti-bacterial stuff (Polysporin), Druide anti-dandruff spray (Dandrex), and who knows what else. In total, I think I've spent well over $1000 to treat this problem. I've tried dermatologists, but they always give me the same stuff (Selsun, Head and Shoulders etc) and none of it helps. I was in class tonight, scratching constantly (which I know doesn't help but there's nothing else to do) and thinking "I am SO fed up of this". I'm trying to change my diet, but in the meantime, has anyone here tried anything that actually worked? Keep in mind that I've done Nizoral and all of those and they didn't help. HELP please!

latifah27: Gloves as a possible option?

Lately I've been getting some bad, weepy rashes on my hands, possibly from handling money at the fast food restaurant where I work. It's gotten so bad that I've needed to take some days off because my hands are itchy and swollen, and I can't really have the customers looking at that. Do most fast food restaurants allow their employees to wear gloves for dermatitis protection?

omg! please someone help me! my scalp is dry and very itchy and has been like this for many many months. why i haven't gone to the doctor about i dont know. its so itchy that i constantly scratch at it, and when i do white dry skin assembles under my nails. there's no end to it! the itching is almost intollerable. i don't thinks it psorioasis (because my scalp is not red) and its not lice (we've looked!). i tried that nuetrogena shampoo and it helped for the first 1.5 days, but it says on the label not to use it for longer then a certain period and i think i notice my hair becoming more scarce since ive strarted using it... now i'm using a very mind natural baby shampoo but still the itching is unbearable! i drink a lot of water and have no known nutritional deficiencies. help!

an ear doctor once said that i have exzema in my ears (because they don't produce enough wax) when i complained about severe itching inside my ears. putting oil has helped with that. so i tried the same rememedy for my scalp ~ bathing my head in olive oil.. and nothing

vthing2: hi, i'm new to this community. = )

i've lived in atlanta for the past fours years. since living here i've developed severe eczema and hives and currently experiencing shingles (which are painful and gross) for the first time. when i was little i had some skin rashes that i grew out of. soon after moving to atlanta, i started developing painful eczema and hives. i notice that my skin allergies would subside when i take a trip away from atlanta. i've had my eyes swollen shut before and was unable to go to work. i've been scratch-tested (allergic to just about everything, pollen, mold, certain trees, pecans, pets, shellfish, etc.) and patch-tested (neosulfate, bacitricin, blue dye in poly/synthetic fabric). i've heard changing your diet may work. i'm starting to pay closer attention to what i consume and use on my skin that may be triggers. i think stress really triggers my reactions also.

twtidfangirl: Help?!

My eczema's been the same as usual(bad) for the last month or so, but a few days ago after I put lotion on (same one I've been using for months) i felt like a was gonna scratch all the skin off my back. And arms. And legs. But especially my back. So the next night I tried a different cream that I'm pretty sure was fine in the past and my back was itching for at least 5 hours after. So tonight I decided to use Aquaphor, even though I don't need something quite that thick at the moment, and even though I've never had problems with it before, my back started itching again. That was almost 3 hours ago and it still hasn't stopped. I tried using extra strength Benadryl itch stopping creme, but I don't think it helped. My back's fine as long as I don't put anything on it, but I can't just stop using moisturizers completely. The only thing I've done different lately is that I've stopped taking Singulair because it wasn't working, but that was about a week before this started.

Suggestions?
