Hey everyone!
I've been thinking lately about how cool it would be to know more people who genuinely enjoy building things, sharing ideas, and just talking about life.
I'm really into Python, AI, web development, and experimenting with random side projects. But I'm also the kind of person who enjoys a good conversation that has absolutely nothing to do with coding.
I'd love to meet more people here, whether you're an experienced developer, a student, or just someone who gets excited about technology.
No networking pitch, no awkward formal introductions. Just good conversations, exchanging ideas, helping each other out, and hopefully building some real friendships along the way.
A few things I'd love to know:
What are you working on or learning lately?
What's something outside of tech you're really into?
Would you ever be up for building a fun little project with an online friend?
Feel free to drop a comment or send me a DM! I'd genuinely enjoy getting to know people here.
Looking forward to meeting some awesome people! 😊

Hey Akash! Welcome to DEV and glad to meet you!
The plan for me is to create a DEVengers org that is open for everyone (though haven't got the time to set that up yet). Otherwise, I would recommend commenting on other people's post! It's how I met great people on this platform!!
In other news, really into gaming. Trying to get myself a PC in this market lol.
Mainly I have been working on a fun project that I will show later on DEV. Not sure when, but your the second person to know about this.
Hope your journey goes well Akash!
Hey Francis! Really appreciate the warm welcome! The DEVengers idea sounds awesome haha. I'd definitely be interested in something like that!
And now you've got me curious about your secret project 😂 What kind of games are you into, by the way? Hope you manage to get that PC soon!
Thanks for responding so quickly!
Mainly games on my switch, but have been playing single-player games more often. One recently is Deltarune Chapter 5 but trying to play some games I wanted to play like Helldivers 2 and such. What about you?
Haha, Deltarune and Helldivers 2 are two completely different vibes 😂 I've been spending a lot of my free time messing around with AI and coding projects lately, so gaming's taken a back seat. But Helldivers 2 looks like a blast! Is that the first game you're planning to get when you finally build your PC?
That's the dream! Hopefully getting it by the end of this year. What kind of projects specifically?
Also, I ask a lot to a bunch of new people, what brings you to dev.to?
Haha, fingers crossed you get that PC before the end of the year! 😂
I've been messing around with AI agents, Python automation, and little web apps. I love taking random ideas and seeing if I can actually make them work.
As for DEV, I came here to share ideas, learn from other developers, and hopefully get to know some cool people along the way. Coding's a lot more fun when you've got people to exchange ideas with.
You seem like a fun person to chat with, Francis! Would you mind if I sent you a message sometime? I'd love to hear more about that mystery project of yours too! 😄
Yea thanks Akash! Feel free to message me here on DEV if anything. I tend to respond quickly when someone pings me on this platform or my attention to detail seeing my name on the comments/posts somewhere on here lol.
I will post about the mystery project on DEV soon! Hopefully the end of this year as well, but we shall see :)
where do you live now?
In the U.S
Can we meet on private?
?
I mean can we meet on other communication such as telegram, mail, whatsapp?
I can't do that sorry. I keep communication modular (within DEV).
To be honest, I want to meet long term friend to work with me.
Can you introduce them to me, please?
If I find anyone, i will lyk!
Do you have any friends right now?
I do, but mostly non-technical. I am sure @hemapriya_kanagala or @codingwithjiro would be interested since I know them for a good while and have good work ethic. Though, that is up to them.
Thank you. but I want to meet American friend to work with me
Best I can refer to is @georgekobaidze
Thank you. Can you introduce me to him? Really want to work with him
I would let @georgekobaidze take the floor since he knows himself more than me lol. Though again, up to him if he wants to.
Well, sorry to disappoint but I’m not American 😄
@georgekobaidze is not American. I contacted with him
Hey @francistrdev, thanks for the mention!
Akash, I read through the thread and thought I would share a little suggestion. It is nice that you are looking to find someone to work with long-term!
Since you're specifically looking for someone from the US, I think you could start by joining the welcome threads and taking part in other discussions here on DEV. It's a nice way to meet people, learn about their interests, and get to know them through conversations. You could also connect with people whose work or interests are similar to yours and see how things go from there.
I feel like getting to know people first, without the pressure of finding a collaborator straight away, can make it easier to build genuine connections. Over time, you might find someone who shares your interests and goals and would be happy to work on something together!
Just thought I'd share the suggestion, and I hope you find someone who's a great fit for what you're looking for 😀
I have a childhood friend/grade school schoolmate/bandmate who's a Tech guy and 1 vibe coder who's a wealth manager. I am ok with these two.
Hey DEV Community! 👋
There’s a lot of standard, off-the-shelf stuff out there, but lately I’ve been more interested in pushing into areas that people haven’t really figured out yet—specifically around subliminal cognitive systems.
I’ve been deep into building out systems like the SCI engine, dealing with the real-world side of cognitive interfaces and timing. It’s wild engineering territory because there isn't a neat rulebook or a standard library for a lot of it; you just have to figure out what works as you go.
Even crazier, I'm doing almost all of this development, writing, and testing directly on my phone. When you're experimenting with weird, uncharted tech without a traditional setup, it forces you to keep things raw and focused.
Anyone else here working on unconventional concepts or pushing into weird engineering spaces that don't have a manual yet?
Also—side note: if anyone out there is dealing with annoying AI bloat, watermarks, or text artifacts getting in the way of what you're trying to read or process, hit me up in the comments or DM me. I've been working on a custom reader solution that cuts straight through that stuff, and it might be exactly what you need.
