hypotrophie

Hypotrophie

Hypotrophy, also referred to as hypotrophia or simple atrophy, is a median development of the size of an organ system, organ, organ, tissue, or system due to insufficient nutrition and / or cell reduction as a result of functional impairment which leads to reduced functionability of organs and tissues , Muscles etc. as a result of a body substance weakening, ie a reduction of organs or tissues by decreasing the cell size with the same number of cells. This disease occurs, for example, after long bed rest or through insufficient nutrient supply. The opposite is hypertrophy.
