Pathognomik

physiognomy

Physiognomik

Physiognomics is the term "art", from the invariable physiological appearance of the body, especially the facial, to the mental qualities of a human being, especially its character traits and / or temperament. After circulating since ancient times as a secret knowledge, and in the age of enlightenment to a popular scientific flourishing, it was used in the 19th and 20th century as a scientific foundation for racism and eugenics. Traditionally, the physiognomy often stands in contrast to ▪ Pathognomics, in which the character is read from the physiognomy - as a fixed expression of emotions and affects, inclinations and habits - as well as ▪ to the facial expressions spontaneously formed by facial muscles , A special form of physiognomy is hand-held art.
