Kork

The cell layer between epidermis and bark is called cork in botany. In everyday use, the term cork refers to the material from the bark of the cork oak, from which corks are obtained above all. Cork is also extracted from the bark of the Asian Amur cork tree. Als Kork wird in der Botanik die Zellschicht zwischen Epidermis und Rinde bezeichnet. Im Alltagsgebrauch wird mit dem Begriff Kork das Material aus der Rinde der Korkeiche bezeichnet, aus dem vor allem Korken gewonnen werden. Kork wird zudem aus der Borke des asiatischen Amur-Korkbaums gewonnen.
