Cauce

The river bed or bed is the part of a valley where the waters flow in its course: it is the normal physical boundary of a flow of water, its lateral borders being the banks. The minor bed, apparent or normal, is the bed through which water runs even during the summer. The greater bed or plain of flood, which contains the first, is only invaded by the course of the floods and, generally, during the annual season in which the flow increases and whose period depends, by its duration and by the time of the year In which it is situated, of the proper regime of each river. The nature of any river bed is always a function of the flow dynamics and local geological materials that can influence that flow.
