Definition of hiedra in the Spanish dictionary

The definition of ivy in the dictionary is ivy, evergreen, of the Araliaceae family, with trunk and branches, from which sprout adventitious roots that cling tightly to the immediate bodies, coriaceous leaves, greenish, glossy, persistent, petiolate, divided into five lobes, whole and heart-shaped, those of the upper branches, flowers of greenish-yellow color, in umbels, and fruit in blackish berries the size of a pea. Although the ivy is not a true parasite, it damages and even smothers with its thick foliage the trees it climbs up.
