Pyrometry

Pirometría

Pyrometry is called the art of measuring variations produced by the action of fire on solid bodies or in another concept to measure the highest temperatures. It has been possible to measure very high temperatures by the use of the optical temperature method. This method is nothing more than the perfection of the usual procedure in the industry which consists of appreciating the high temperatures by the colors dark red, cherry red, white red, etc. Which take the incandescent bodies, changes of color corresponding to each variation of constitution in the respective spectra. By virtue of the principle that the relationship between the intensities of two determined radiations depends solely on temperature, it is sufficient to compare photometrically the intensity of the radiation emitted by the body whose temperature is to be ascertained by the radiation of the same color emitted by a lamp-moderator , Taken as a unit to represent those with their number.
