Fear

Miedo

Fear or fear is an emotion characterized by an intense, usually unpleasant sensation, triggered by the perception of a danger, real or supposed, present, future or even past. It is a primary emotion that derives from natural aversion to risk or threat, and manifests itself in all animals, including humans. The ultimate expression of fear is terror. Also fear is related to anxiety. There is real fear when the dimension of fear is in correspondence with the dimension of the threat. There is neurotic fear when the intensity of the attack of fear has no relation to the danger. Both real fear and neurotic fear were terms defined by Sigmund Freud in his theory of fear. At present there are two different concepts about fear, which correspond to the two great psychological theories we have: behaviorism and deep psychology. According to the behaviorist concept, fear is something learned. The model of depth psychology is completely different.
