Michelia
Michelia
Michelia is a genus of flowering plants from the tribe of Magnoliaceae. This genus contains about 50 species of green plants, bushes, which grow in tropical and subtropical areas of South Asia and Southeast Asia and South China. This plant is also called Cempaka Flower or Kanthil Flower. The Magnoliaceae are still included in ancient plants, as live fossils and their origins can be explored until 95 million years ago. The characteristics of this plant are flower leaves that are not composed of thorns and sepals, but are composed of flowers. Michelle's leaves and flowers are still similar to the Magnolia leaves and flowers. Although the flowers of Michelia are spread more along the tree, Magnolia flowers only grow on the peaks. Some species are important wood producers. Some species such as Michelia champaca and Michelia doltsopa are grown due to their flowers. M. champaca is also used to extract the oil from the flowers as a perfume. Some species are also known as fossilized plants such as M. figo, M. doltsopa and M. champaca.
