The urophorphin porphyrin is an intermediate metabolite of hematopoiesis composed mainly of bone marrow glaucoma red blood cells and liver, and hem synthesized in the course of ALA → porphyrinogen → uroporphyrin → chaperoporphyrin → protoporphyrin + iron = heme Hemoglobin and the like. Porphyrin is excreted in the urine at 15 to 30 μg in the urine, but it increases markedly in congenital porphyria and increases in hepatic porphyria. 우로포피린 포르피린체는 생체조직중 주로 골수의 유약적혈구 및 간에서 이루어지는 헴합성의 중간대사물질이고 ALA → 포르피리노겐 → 우로포르피린 → 코르포포르피린 → 프로토포르피린 + 철 = 헴이라는 과정에서 합성된 헴은 혈색소 등의 소재가 된다. 우로포르피린은 정상에서도 요중에 15~30㎍이 배설되는데 선천성 포르피린증에서 두드러지게 증가하고 간성 포르피린증에서도 증가한다.
