Lupulina

Lupulin - greenish-yellowish or orange-yellow powder, sticky, with a characteristic, strong smell and a bitter taste. It consists of fried seared with hops of the secretion gland. Lupulin should contain from 1% to 3% essential oil, containing the characteristic ingredients: humulen, β-mircen, fernazen, β-cariophene and others; tannins, alcohols; mircenol and its esters with isovaleric, pelargonic, butter and acetic acids, resinous compounds: humulon, cohumulon, adhumulon, lupulon, colupulon, adlupulon, xanthohumol, hopanon, chalcones, flavonoids and other compounds including phenol ketone and fluoroglucin derivatives. In addition, there are waxes, protein compounds, fats and many other compounds in smaller quantities. Pharmacologically, Lupulin has dose-dependent effects - sedative or hypnotic. It is one of the few herbal herbal remedies that have specific sexual impaired properties in humans. For this reason it can be used in herbal medicine. Lupulina – proszek zielonawożółty lub pomarańczowożółty, lepki, o charakterystycznej, silnej woni oraz gorzkim smaku. Składa się z otartych z owocostanów chmielu zwyczajnego gruczołów włosków wydzielniczych. Lupulina powinna zawierać od 1% do 3% olejku eterycznego, zawierającego charakterystyczne składniki: humulen, β-mircen, fernazen, β-kariofilen i in., garbniki, alkohole, m.in. mircenol i jego estry z kwasami izowalerianowym, pelargonowym, masłowym oraz octowym, związki żywicowe: humulon, kohumulon, adhumulon, lupulon, kolupulon, adlupulon, ksantohumol, hopanon, chalkony, flawonoidy i inne związki w tym fenoloketonowe i pochodne fluoroglucyny. Ponadto w surowcu występują woski, związki białkowe, tłuszcze oraz wiele innych związków w mniejszych ilościach. Lupulina farmakologicznie wykazuje działanie zależne od dawki – uspokajające lub nasenne. Jest jednym z nielicznych roślinnych środków ziołowych posiadających specyficzne właściwości tłumiące popęd płciowy u człowieka. Z tego powodu może być stosowana w ziołolecznictwie.
