- Sure thing. The intention is that this bot will be used to mass-update template parameters on articles transcluding a template, once the deprecation code has been removed. When a template's parameters are updated, there is often deprecation code that is inserted into the template, allowing both the old and new parameter names to be used. Eventually, the usage of the old deprecated parameters is cleaned up, and the deprecation code is removed. However, for many reasons, occasionally those old, no longer functioning parameters will occasionally get re-introduced into the template. (Reverts, long-time wiki editors not realizing that the parameter has changed, etc.)
- This bot will take the mapping of
|old_parameter=→|new_parameter=, and when it sees any instances of|old_parameter=, it will replace it with|new_parameter=. The page that I'm requesting template editor protection on is used as an index to point to subpages with approved revisions. This prevents the bot from being used for vandalism. While I like to assume good faith, the possibility for abuse is great, and template editor protection will, in my opinion, greatly help with preventing said abuse. - Template protection was chosen because it is a relatively small, trusted group of editors, and there is precedent for bot configs to be protected with this level of protection. Hello! I mainly create and improve articles about Latvia/Eastern Europe on English Wikipedia - particularly on culture, institutions and infrastructure. My articles include Purvītis Prize, Latvian Architecture Award, National Design Award of Latvia, Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival and LAMPA Conversation Festival. I also developed Sadales tīkls, improving its sourcing after feedback and submitting the revised draft through AfC. Now it's in mainspace. Alongside new articles, I have rewritten Culture of Latvia, Parachuting and Wingsuit flying, and expanded articles such as Riga Motor Museum and Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation. Hi there! Please consider my request for the Autopatrolled permission. My application is purely for reducing the load on the new pages patrol backlog. My first edit was back in 2008, however it was from 2022 when I started editing in volume. I have c. 6,500 edits on English Wikipedia, and have created 86 articles and a number of redirects. None of my creations have been deleted. My understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines was not great at the beginning, however this has been increasing steadily over time. To support my application - please do also review my AfD participation which shows contribution to several hundred discussions. I am requesting the restoration of my Extended Confirmed rights. My previous request from September 6th wasn't approved by voorts based on generic claims ("This request seems LLM-generated to me" and "There are several AI tells in your request"), but when I explicitly asked what those tells were, no explanation or text examples were provided. I need to state clearly again: I do not use AI. English is not my native language, and my use of dictionaries and Google Translate to verify phrasing is what triggers false positives on automated detectors. This is not the first time this has happened to me, and I face a lot of unfair suspicion on Wikipedia as a result. Ignoring a non-native speaker's explanation and leaving generic AI accusations unexplained does not align with community values. A major reason I need this permission is to access the Content Translation tool. I have manually translated and created over 30 articles on this wiki, and not having this tool limits my ability to contribute. I have carefully reviewed past administrator feedback regarding extended confirmed requirements after a revocation and implemented them before submitting this request. Following the expected standard, I have focused strictly on manual, constructive work in the mainspace. Since losing the permission (at around 560 edits), I have made over 570 additional manual, documented, and productive edits in the mainspace, bringing my current total to over 1,130 edits. My recent notable contributions include researching and creating Non ædificandi from scratch and expanding Impasse Florimont, which was manually cleaned up, reviewed, and upgraded to B-Class status. I am NOT using LLMs. I am a REAL human editor who wishes to continue contributing to the English Wikipedia, and I am asking to please restore my Extended Confirmed rights. Thank you. I have now done quite a lot on AFC and reviewed quite a few articles, showing that I understand content policies. Furthermore, if you look at my interactions, you can see that I have always acted civilly and resolved any disputes. From my Counter Vandalism Work, you can see that I always inform a user when I revert their edit; the same happens with AFC (through the AFC helper). I would primarily like this role as a counter-vandalism tool so that I can remove pages that are obviously vandalism, as I think that this is an important thing to do. I would also review other pages in order to help ease the backlog. I would finally like to thank anyone who reviews this request. Cheers,
I have created about 34 AfDs and participated in many more, while also creating about 32 mainspace articles (along with about a few hundred redirects). I am not afraid to say that some of these AfDs have failed, and some of my pages created were eventually deleted, as all in all, I believe these have helped me develop an adequate understanding over time of important policy, especially things like WP:GNG, to make me suitable for this role. I had a NPP trial previously but unfortunately I got blocked during the last trial for 48 hours on the 2 December 2025 due to edit warring I did(not in the npp work I was doing but I still understand what I did was wrong.) As I understand I made a mistake I have spent the past months since my trial showing I have learnt from my error focusing on making edits to improve Wikipedia and not engaging in any edit wars whatsoever. I've been interested in helping out the new page reviewing backlog. I have plenty of experience at Articles for Deletion, nominating articles I've come across and participating in various discussions. Although I haven't been correct on all of them, the ones I've gotten wrong have taught me more about the various policies that make up Wikipedia. Furthermore, I've written a few articles, getting one to good article status, that I hope to bring up to featured article status in the future. hi, I would like to renew my NPP rights witch are about to expire. Different articles were reviewed over the last month, often after I added additional refs, images, or added/rephrased some text. Hello, the rollback button would be very useful to reduce unnecessary time dealing with vandalism due to retribution edits from trolls/vandals on this wiki caused by admin or CU actions from me in other wikis I have these extended rights in (dewiki, CU since 2022 and admin since 2016). Sometimes I also come across clear crosswiki vandalism (especially as CU), for which rollback would be nice to have. Excessively experienced with rollback policy in dewiki as an admin who regularly needs to remind the folks over there to abide by the policy, which in its basics is the same as here. Reason for requesting rollback rights: I’ve been an RC patroller for better part of a year now. Rollback rights will help me counter vandalism more effectively, especially when I have to undo contributions of editors with a disruptive editing history, editors with single-purpose COI accounts, and editors who have been blocked. I’d also like to use the suite of tools that rollback rights come with including CVPI and Huggle. I will not use rollback rights to settle content disputes (I don’t get into many either way).
