Copying repealed enactment tables

Hi Hughbe98! I've noticed that a number of your recent article creations about UK Acts of Parliament have copy/pasted content from the Acts' repealed enactment tables: Insurance Companies Act 1982, Representation of the People Act 1983, Civil Aviation Act 1982, and a number of others. While this content is not under copyright in the United States (c:Template:PD-EdictGov and WP:NUSC) it does still need to be attributed.

Separately, it might honestly be easier to rewrite these in prose with less specificity, maybe something like The Act repealed portions of other acts, including...[describing the changes]. I'm not sure what use the current tables provide for most readers, given that they reference very specific portions of other acts which it is unlikely readers know and which the articles do not elaborate on. Missing footnotes

The footnotes that you have added to Cornwall Minerals Railway are generating an error message – 8 footnotes are directed to a note named 's1' but you have not provided that footnote. Similarly, on Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway there are 14 footnotes directed to "aopca" which is not defined. Could you fix these? Geof Sheppard (talk) 17:11, 18 July 2026 (UTC)

A reminder that pages are not allowed to be filed in redlinked categories that do not exist, per WP:REDNOT. Pages may only be filed in bluelinked categories that exist, and are not allowed to sit in redlinked categories that do not exist.

You have been advised of this several times before (according to the edit history of this talk page I advised you of this at least three times last year alone), yet after obeying the rule for a while you've started adding pages to redlinked categories on a regular basis again. Excessive cross-references in infoboxes

Hi Hughbe98, there's a discussion on Template talk:Infobox UK legislation from April 2026 about adding excessive detail in cross-referencing legislation. For example, the infobox for Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973 now lists that it amended the Plant Varieties and Seeds Act 1964 and that it was amended by the British Telecommunications Act 1981, neither are particularly relevant to the article at hand, nor are a variety of such sundry legislation. Adding these creates a large infobox, that creates screens of whitespace. Consider what's at MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. Serious Crime Act 2015

Hi, I made a change to this and you re-instated. It was the infobox. Can you help me understand why we need a link on this to the originally enacted legislation, a link to the amended legislation and a link to the legislation that is in force? Hi, I have reviewed this further and although the URLs are different, the actual content on the landing pages of the last two is the same. I think this may be where the confusion resulted from. Articles with essentially only large tables of repeals and articles with only primary sources

Can you bear in mind Wikipedia:Too much detail when editing and not create huge tables of repeals? I tried to find the relevant sources for Port of London Authority#History, and you have removed the redirects, and created pages like Port of London Act 1968 without even using those sources and instead they just have huge tables of repeals and only a small number of primary sources and no secondary sources.
