I just opened your user page where you posted "Avid sports fan and writer". Look immediately to the left of that post. In black print, it says "Main menu". The topics underneath the main menu are in blue because you can click on them. The tenth one down is HELP. Click on it. This is what will come up: Help:Contents Scroll down a bit, and you will see "Read or find an article" on the left and "Edit an article" on the right. Keep scrolling. The next two topics will be "Report a problem" on the left and "Create a new article" on the right. Under create a new article, the first line reads "Check Your first article to see if your topic is appropriate, then the Article wizard will walk you through creating the article." Good morning, I'm glad to have a mentor. Would you please offer advice with respect to what do to when well-cited edits are repeatedly deleted without text being salvaged and with little or no explanation? This keeps happening on neutral additions I have made to the Robert Bruce Charles page. I took it up in the Talk section of both the RBC page and the page of the person doing the deletions (irisChronomia), but I have not gotten a response. In fact, there is another user who replied simply to post snarky comments on the Talk section both on the reverter's page, so this does not seem productive. As the edit summary said, they were indeffed because they're socking after being blocked for this same issue. I assumed you had better things to do than explain the situation yet again to someone who refuses to accept the answer and cannot respond. They were running around forumshopping in numerous locations, so once the block dropped I went back reverting or collapsing when there had been replies to try to prevent additional snowballing. I figured "indeff" in the summary covered the main point. Most other editors seem happy to have such disruption already handled, since as you mentioned the history is still there for them to check themselves. I am happy! I am deliriously happy! I swear! Much respect! I just have this thing about other editors deleting stuff from my talk page. It complicates things for me-- if I want to write a reply, I have to find it first. I have to go look for what happened. But that's just me. Don't stress over my whining. Women in Green's October 2026 Edit-a-thon

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2026!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2026, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films or organizations created by women) during the event period — and this time, we are extending our focus to encourage more Did You Know (DYK) submissions spotlighting new GA articles about women and women's works. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by the event's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

Hello SinplicityOverused598! I have now posted a welcome on your talk page. There is a steep learning curve on Wikipedia, so any and all reading of those blue links will help you. Here is an info page on the purpose of Wikipedia: Wikipedia:Purpose. It says Wikipedia's purpose is "to benefit readers by acting as a widely accessible and free encyclopedia... The goal of a Wikipedia article is to present a neutrally written summary of existing mainstream knowledge in a fair and accurate manner with a straightforward, "just-the-facts style"."

Those are key points: neutral, mainstream, fair and accurate facts. Quality editing hangs entirely on quality sourcing and quality research. It is not unusual for me to spend hours researching just to get one line in an article. Editors know knowledge is power, and it is our goal to freely disseminate as much knowledge as possible, as accurately as possible, to empower the world. That's my goal anyway!

I hope you will like it here. It's often quite difficult at first. If you have any trouble, you can always come and ask me to see if I can help, but I think you will find the majority of editors here are all quite helpful. Wikipedia is truly a unique and wonderful place.
