Not sure why you messaged Sock, but per WP:RDRAFT, redirects that are a result of page moves from the draft namespace to another namespace should be retained. — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 00:45, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your edits regarding MOS:PSEUDOHEAD

[edit]

Hello, I have noticed your edits to personnel sections often remove bold pseudo-headings. I believe you have misinterpreted MOS:PSEUDOHEAD as these are listed on the acceptable side of the table. This is also the standard styling for personnel sections so I'm not sure why you feel the need to make this unnecessary change to so many articles.

I'll admit this is a bit of a non-issue, but I am just informing you that it need not be changed. Thanks Tesco250 (talk) 22:29, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Tesco250 I'm confused by what you think I'm misinterpreting here. The text of MOS:PSEUDOHEAD specifically says to avoid using bold text for headings and immediately explains why: Screen readers and other assistive technologies rely on proper heading markup for navigation. I understand you likely don't use a screen reader, but this change is necessary for those who do and that is the exact reason I do it.
You've also misread the example in the table. That example shows that bold pseudoheadings are acceptable two subheading levels down, not one. Using personnel as an example, that would mean that "Personnel" gets a proper heading, any specific subsections (like "Musicians") get a proper heading, but any subsections below that could be bolded. For example, if "Musicians" was split into "Strings" and "Brass" or something like that, that would be an acceptable use of bold pseudoheadings based on the MOS. Something like this:

==Personnel==
===Musicians===
'''Strings'''
'''Brass'''
===Technical===

I genuinely believe there is no justification to use bold pseudoheadings instead of H3s when it's inaccessible for some readers and almost identical visually, but even if that wasn't my opinion, the verbiage and examples in MOS:PSEUDOHEAD are clear. This is a helpful formatting change and while I don't go out of my way to do it on articles that I'm not otherwise changing, I'm going to continue making this change when I come across it for the benefit of screen reader users. It seems then there is some misinterpretation on both ends then. My understanding is that pseudoheadings have been the long-established practice and are used in most album articles and thus have become the standard. You are correct in saying that I am unfamiliar with screen readers, though I don't see why one would need to navigate to a specific section within a personnel list unless the list was particularly lengthy, but perhaps I'm still misunderstanding. It seems this was more nuanced than I first thought, I was merely trying to keep styling consistent between articles. Tesco250 (talk) 06:31, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
